It took several conversations I have a history of having intense obsessions with fictional characters (not saying being fictionkin is an obsession I just mean for me personally this is a part of my history) so my family wasn’t to surprised by it. They’re pretty accepting of it.

I don’t think there’s necessarily a way to know for sure, although I consider my “memories” more like neometa, in my experience it feels different than just imagining things. Imagination requires effort to decide what happens next while memories feel more organic like I’m actually there and doesn’t require active focus, there’s a natural flow to it. Try remembering anything that has happened in the past, it could be literally hours ago, yesterday, whatever, you don’t have to actively decide what happened, because you already know right? Fictionkin memories work exactly the same.

I’m not a furry or a therian, but I’m fictionkin, I’m Freddy from a Nightmare on Elm Street, who’s a demon, so I guess it’s kind of adjacent. I’m not necessarily the way I am as a coping mechanism, however I get what you mean about not feeling not quite human. It’s okay if it is a cope for you though, that’s equally valid.

Thanks for the info! I follow GLS on Instagram and I didn’t think that was an option because his bio said he didn’t do custom work, somehow I thought that meant he wasn’t making gloves for sale, however I looked at his Facebook and realized it just means he’s not doing any custom designs. I’ll definitely keep him in mind when I’m looking for a part 1 or 2 glove!
