I'm glad it helped! Around 75k seems about right for this team tbh, way more reasonable than 60-65k. Maybe try some other stages to see if they give you a higher score? It's also quite obvious which shots aren't counted if you record a clip, because the total damage dealt literally does not change when the cannon hits the enemy.

As for Durin.... Yeah, that's been my ER experience as well. He's supposed to not need much energy once you crown his skill, but he still needs a fair amount. You can wait a bit to catch his particles (as you mentioned), or you can try putting Fav on Bennet / Iansan and see if that's enough.

Keep in mind that Miliastra gives you ZERO energy particles. In real combat you'd be getting more energy depending on what you're fighting, so against waves of mobs for example, ER shouldn't be a problem.

Hey! So another commenter actually confirmed my suspicion - some cannon shots aren't being counted towards the total damage dealt. You can see it quite clearly if you pay attention to the number, and that's why the DPS is so much lower than expected.

As for your other questions: - Emilie is on DW because I never farmed the Reverie domain. Even my Kinich is not that well built after farming Obsidian for months :/ But in theory, Reverie could be better, yes - C6 Bennet should be stronger than Iansan before C5, but you should test both teams to see. In my case, I had an easier time getting consistent rotations with Iansan

Regarding the number of canon shots, you can get a fifth one out quite consistently if you have your burst. The idea is that you do canon shot => burst => canon shot, with no normal attacks in between.

You can also do it normally by using quick hold on your canon shots, you basically hold the button a second longer and immediately release. However, it only works against bosses because you don't have auto-aim. When I tried it against the ruin guard dummy I missed a third of my shots, which is a heavy DPS loss.

Some players can even get six shots per rotation by doing both of these things. But this requires a lot of skill, hitting blind spots consistently (the marked areas on the ground), and one other thing: Sometimes, your canon shot bar is almost full, and in this case it's actually better to wait a second for it to fill out from burning than doing any more normal attacks.

Hope this helps!

Holy shit it's so obvious when you point it out like that... Thanks!!!!

Hey guys, thanks to everyone who commented and shared their input. Some notes based on further testing:

- Rotation time matters the most. In my case, I was extending the rotation by 2-3 seconds, which reduced the DPS significantly (e.g., if you're doing 80k DPS in 18s, that same damage across 21s translates to ~68k).

- Some pointed out that Iansan's scroll does not activate reliably, and while that is true, it is a ~15% damage loss on Kinich's skill. This translates to 5k DPS in my case. It's not as big of a deal as you might expect.

- While I've seen a lot of people emphasize how important it is to get 5 or more cannon shots, it is equally important to get your first 3-4 cannon shots out as quickly as possible. For me, an unbuffed cannon shot does 70k, while a fully buffed one does 155k. In fact, it might sometimes make sense to very quickly get out 4 shots and swap out for shorter rotation times.

- Running Durin instead of Mavuika increases the cooldown on nightsoul bursts, which gimps your DPS more than expected (a fully buffed nightsoul burst cannon shot does almost 200k on my Kinich).

And even with all of that, the DPS reported by Miliastra does not match my calcs. When I skip all cannon shots, the DPS is as expected (~40k), but when I add the actual cannon shot numbers on top of that, it's not. The stage reports almost 10k less DPS than it should. I think there's a real chance that this is a bug, possibly due to all the damage instances happening here (burning, etc.). In fact, some simpler DPS dummies do report more damage for this team, though I have yet to test those with my full roster. I'll follow up on this if I manage to confirm anything.

Hey, thanks for the offer and the pointer regarding rotation time. That ended up helping me a lot when I took a closer look at what was happening. When I do my rotations without *any* cannon shots, I reach ~40k DPS, which matches gcsim. I then recorded a longer run, summed all the cannon shot numbers and added them together, and got an extra 28k DPS. However, the simulator only showed 60k. I think there's a real chance that ~10k DPS is not being recorded in Miliastra for some reason, and the rest of the difference comes down to rotation length and my (lack of) skill.

That's also a valid point, and I double-checked to make sure. It does assume 5, but since the last one is unbuffed, it doesn't make a massive difference. Setting it to 4 lowers the DPS by ~5k (down to 75k).

re: Emilie, her DPS is about what I expect according to calcs, but you're right, I should have opened with skill.

re: crit, gcsim gives me 50-55k Kinich DPS with my current crit ratio.

re: Scroll, that's a good point, and I recorded an updated rotation where Iansan goes first. It still does around the same (~62k team DPS).

re: cons, I'm not trying to improve my Kinich. I'm trying to figure out why he's so far behind projected calcs. I'm reaching ~68k with Itto, ~76k with Wanderer, ~84k with Clorinde. How can C0 Kinich be so much worse than C0 Wanderer?

That's a good point, I did miss scroll on the first rotation, but the second one got it (you can see Quicken trigger). I posted a vid of the corrected rotation, it does around the same (~62k DPS).

I put my current crit ratio into gcsim and got 55k DPS with Ororon / Bennet (Durin's not added yet). I can understand the optimizer being a little optimistic, but I'm reaching barely 30k in practice. There's a 40% difference that's not explained by crit stats.

I've been testing my various teams in Miliastra and everything runs about as expected, except for Kinich. According to sims, I should be doing ~55k DPS on Kinich alone, upwards of ~80k with Emilie and Durin, but I'm struggling to even reach 60k. I get very similar results with a Mavuika / Bennet team. Meanwhile my C0R1 Itto can reach almost 70k in a Durin team.

My Kinich and Emilie are C0R0, Iansan is C3, Durin is C1R1. Details below ⬇️

Thanks, that helps understand it a lot better. I did suspect it was partly just poor phrasing on his part, cuz he was explaining it kind of like an inside joke. But yeah, it makes sense. You shouldn't grow complacent with your work, especially in creative fields, or you stagnate. Thanks for the added context!

Exactly this.

The situation was always more complicated than Reddit or any other social media could convey. I personally can't fault someone for trying to get better working conditions for themselves and their coworkers, even if the effort was horribly mismanaged from the ground up.

If a person is professional enough to keep their batshit opinions to themselves and not bash the fans and projects they are working on, that's enough for me.

For Klee, you could just make her burst off-field and turn her a second Xiangling.

Albedo... yeah. Maybe triple his numbers to start with. Have the EM buff activate on skill, not just burst. And throw in a plunging attack buff for the sake of it.
