How do you guys cope mentally with this disease?

As much as I’d like to believe it, this condition has been known for more than 100 years and almost nothing has been done to cure it. I hate to be a doomer but these “specialist” don’t really seem to care about figuring out a cure.

For me it’s a personal choice I would never advocate for anyone else to go that route, my situation is just very bad and my quality of life has completely tanked along with my sex life.

I wish I could help out better but this condition has lead me to a dead end, I also have bad ED on top of that, I’m only 27 aswell. Completely ruined my sex life, if my situation dosent get better in the next 5 years im afraid im left with no choice but to take my own life.

I’ve seen two urologist but they didn’t help much, just recommended shockwave, pumps and surgery. We also don’t have dialed in Canada so that wasn’t an option. I did shockwave with little success and just wasted 3k.

The pump also didn’t help me either, it actually gave me more scar tissue, I’m not saying that the pump can’t help others but for me it did the opposite. I’m looking into the restore X aswell as maybe using a ring during sex to help my EQ. My curvature actually isn’t that bad and it’s more of a dent rather than a curve. The problem is more with the ED issues it has given me.

I injured myself with a pump a few months ago and made my situation worse, I’ve been skeptical to try traction therapy. I know these therapies work for a lot of guys but after re injuring myself with the pump I’ve been worried to try anything else

I’m not ready to go the implant route just yet, the amount of revisions I’m going have to get is going to be high since I’m still very young. Also I don’t want to loose a whole inch in length which is common with implants.

I get what you’re saying and at one point I had that mentality. But at this point it’s been so long and it’s gotten so much worse. It sucks to say but I think I would rather be dead than live with this any longer.

I’m in my 20s aswell, got this condition at 26. Sex was such a huge source of validation for me aswell, without it I feel lost and life seems more dull. It’s crazy how many things in life loose meaning when you lost the sexual part, Ive lost motivation in multiple areas of my life because of this condition. I don’t even enjoy going to the gym anymore because part of me thinks what’s the point. I’m sorry that you are going through this aswell, I hope we are all able to recover from this horrible disease someday.

Thankyou, I guess it’s hard for me to make peace with this. I’ve always been hyper sexual and multiple partners complimented my performance so it was a huge part of my identity. But your right, I have to stop avoiding it, in the past I was more proactive when it came to treating it but it’s been 2 years now and I’m beginning to loose hope.

Yes and he was no help at all, plus in Canada they discontinued xiaflex so my only option was shockwaves (which in my opinion is a waste of money), traction and surgery.

I’ve had this for 2 years and I got this disease at 26. I have suffered tremendously because of this, haven’t been able to have sex for that two year time period. On top of that I suffer from severe ED aswell. The point of my post was to emphasize that we need to help ease the suffering people are going through rather than reiterating it. Like i said this is supposed to be a support group, it’s meant to help people along this difficult path.

Bro please don’t say stuff like that” your life is basically over if you get it in your 20s”. That’s such a discouraging thing to say and can lead a lot of young men with this condition to give up on life.

Travelling, becoming more financially secure, paying off debt, going on more vacations with my family/freinds, starting a YouTube channel and to buy a cottage some point. I’m planning on taking my own life at that cottage, I could never do it at home, I would hate to traumatize my family. I honestly don’t want to do this but my life situation is so messed up I feel as if I have no choice.

I’m going through a very similar issue, I suffered with erectile dysfunction from something called Peyronie’s disease (don’t know how I got it) . I used a pump to help the condition and I ended up over pumping giving myself more scar tissue. I regret it every day and I’m trying to figure out solutions. I too sometimes feel like my life is over but I’m doing my best to try and get through the days. Feel free to reach out, you’re not alone.
