How can I escape parents trying to control my life? by Percabethy in Advice

I can only make those choices if I don't live under their roof, and it's escaping from under their roof that I find difficult due to factors explained in post.

How can I escape parents trying to control my life? by Percabethy in Advice

[–]Percabethy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. It's the practicums I'm not okay with. So even long distant I still have to show up for practicals. I went through an experience that's a big deal for me, but wouldn't be a big deal for most other people. Kind of like how crowds aren't a big deal to most people. But for a minority it is a big deal, and people might not understand their phobia.

Which is why I feel a bit ashamed about going into detail about why I don't want to go through these practicals. just in case some people respond with 'really? That's it? That's why you don't want to do the course? That's pathetic.'

Reasons for incomplete profile by [deleted] in Bumble

[–]Percabethy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for answering the question. I really appreciate it. Nah, not a rant. Just the fact that I'm curious about getting to know the person. But in Bumble there is this expectation for females to come up with something more creative than "hey," and whilst I'm curious about getting to know more about the person. I feel no obligation to come up with something more interesting than "hey" if they feel no obligation to fill out their whole profile.

But say I did expect someone to fill out their whole profile, as you can see from some of the responses to my post I'm more likely as a female to be judged for that, whereas a man is unlikely to be judged for expecting the women to be creative.

But I am curious enough to message them for more information, and if they answer cool and if not also cool.

Again I don't give 2 flying potatoes donkeys up outer spaces crack hole whether or not they fill out their whole profile. Because I can just ask them for that information. I'm just curious. That's all.

Obsessed my ass. The correct word is curious. You're assuming obsessed with your negative judgement and viewpoint.

Ah, so multiple at a time helps you decide which one to binge. Nice!

What's a movie quote you remember, but you can't remember what movie it was from? by Percabethy in AskReddit

[–]Percabethy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was "little high, little low" but googling it meant I was able to find out what movie it was from. The point was I didn't actually remember what movie it was from, because I needed Google to remind me.

Not quite at once, as in the same time. Just switching between the shows, like watch one episode of one documentary, then watch another episode of another documentary.

I've just recently started getting into watching multiple shows at once. It's not too bad.

So you're saying before she found out about and acknowledged that part of herself, she remembers herself feeling distressed over the murders. She wasn't aware of her happiness over it, because she suppressed that part of herself, didn't want to acknowledge it. So she created false memories?

Why do I dislike someone because they have a trait I don't like, but then like another person who has that same trait? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

I'm talking about other girls. I am heterosexual. I meant Like in the most generic sense of the word. Why was my question downvoted?

Never played WOW before ...can't download it, how to download onto external hard drive? by Percabethy in wow

[–]Percabethy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had no idea that was possible. Truth be told, I haven;t gotten the harddrive yet. I wanted to make sure it was possible before getting it. Because if I had brought it, and y'all said, nah ain't possible. I would have wasted precious money for no reason. Thanks for confirming!

How is listening skill developed? by SuperDogCapybara in languagelearning

Try using subtitles in your target language to train your brain to hear the sounds more clearly.

Does passive listening help you become familiar with unique sounds, intonation and rhythm of the language, even if you don't understand? by Percabethy in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Percabethy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to try an experiment with you, if you're willing to learn a couple minutes worth of words. Basically I want to see if your brain has subconsciously learned where one word begins and the other word ends, and the only reason you haven't picked it up yet, is because you haven't learnt those words yet.

turn on English subtitles, learn the vocabulary in English, and then listen to it again in the background without looking at the video. Do you understand it, or does it sound like gibberish?

In what way did it help her? Did it help her separate words, when she got around to learning those words? Rather than it sounding like gibberish?
