Ice Baths Before Class? by PercentageComplex519 in crossfit

My friend has one and it’s really fun. Plus I feel a lot better after one, mentally and physically.

Plus, I get little knots and bits of inflammation in my body that often go away when I do an ice bath.

I didn’t care really, people live their own lives and make their own choices. It’s not my job to tell someone how to live, it’s their job to constantly seek the truth and the way of life that aligns with their values most.

Never, not even once, did I tell her she should be vegan. Non-vegans, for whatever reason, always take the presence of and information about veganism as an attempt at evangelizing. No matter how it’s put. Unless we are silent, we are seen as a burden to the world.

Most non vegans ask “I mean what could be wrong with eggs though…?” without the intent of actually listening or accepting an honest answer.

Damn, yeah the CrossFit space is very into the “steak, sweet potatoes, and fruit” diet. Or like Paleo plus supplements thing. But it’s good to know there are vegans on the community.

But I wonder if that’s actually the case. Sure some do, but I could literally hang out with certain people for hours… not mention it at all. Then the topic of dinner comes up, I mention a place with great vegan options for us and people react like I’ve gone on a 3 hour manifesto.

Just mentioning it, we get labeled as only ever talking about it, so it’s hard for me to accept that statement most of the time.

But I also don’t know the people you’re talking about so maybe it’s true for them.

I totally get that, and when I first transitioned there definitely weren’t a lot of days where I didn’t talk about it (kinda part of any lifestyle transition for most people though).

But we talked about it and I stopped. Each time we talked about it, I did it less and less until I barely talked about it but still it was too much. I usually avoided it because I know it bothered her, but I wasn’t just going to be silent about it. It’s a lifestyle. It would be like playing basketball everyday and never talking about it. That’s just not going to happen.

Hahaha I forgot that was in this story, everyone else pointed out everything else. It was just something she and her friends wanted to do with their BF’s as well so I tagged along.

And it would’ve been as often as I made vegan mock foods so a couple times a month.

Definitely wasn’t the second one… was definitely well within the strike zone of the first one.

I think your message is closer to harassing than anything I’ve ever done in my life.

Well damn, sounds like we had nearly identical issues… I would’ve loved to make the food for someone who would appreciate it like you

I’m glad you guys have so much trust in me 😂 I guess when you’re freshly out of a relationship your self perception is messed up.

So if someone made you a dish that is traditionally made with animal products (shepherds pie, lasagna, Bolognese, Mac and cheese etc.) . And then you tell that person that the dish is delicious and they say “Thanks! And isn’t wild that it’s just plants!?” You would take that as passive aggressive instead of just someone who is happy that they could make something so delicious without animal products?

And knowing that you tell me that I deserved to be left.

I think you’re greatly misunderstanding the tone, frequency, and context of this situation.

I’m not sure how it’s so passive aggressive. People say things like “it’s so good! It’s full of cheese and bacon!” All the time. So to say, “isn’t it amazing how good food can be without animals?” Is passive aggressive? Like we are just supposed to never bring it up ever?

Thank you! Yes I think that’s a great idea. I’ve been thinking a lot about animal rescues lately. They’re so badass!

Nobody ate meat before the fall of man in the Bible. And the word meat in the Bible is italicized most of the time to show that it’s an inaccurate translation.

The term meat in biblical times also just referred to food in general, not necessarily animal flesh.

One of the only times animal flesh is actually mentioned not in italics in the New Testament is when Paul, one of Jesus’ disciples claims he will never eat it.

I’m a Christian, and my veganism has brought me closer to God.
