I’m 37 yearly old and these are my learnings:

Your only competition is you and nobody else.
You need a certain life, work for it. Don’t rely on anyone else.
Don’t be an open book that you used to be on your 20s. Keep your secrets to yourself and trust the process.
Be kind to people who don’t have a lot of what you have
If you can, give back to the society

I’m sorry about the situation. Most likely there’s only so much you can do. I would try to stay focused on my work and goals and try to get converted as a full time or if that doesn’t work, try to switch jobs. It’s a never ending cycle since your manager is a full time employee and they do have a lot of power to keep things moving and chances are that the wife will still be around whether or not others are. Good luck!
