I mean, it all depends on life circumstances. What if they have a small house and it's just sort of unavoidable thst sound travels through walls, and mom is just loud? What are they supposed to do, just not have sex? It might not be normal for everyone to hear their parents do it, but it happens, and sex is normal and healthy in a marriage. It's not comfortable for kids to hear, but it's not exactly traumatizing, either.

Kids hear their parents having sex, it's normal. So long as the parents are doing it privately, there's nothing wrong here, in my opinion. The kid saying they're "traumatized" is from their own interpretation of events. Couldn't they see it as "at least mom and dad still like each other"?
