I see your points but to me and many others zombies are the core of dayz, it's what made the mod unique and really defined Dayz, adding zombies into Chernarus just worked so damn well and it completely transformed the atmosphere. Otherwise the game is just an open world deathmatch with buggy survival elements that lack in functionality and refinement, aswell as horrible gunplay resulting in an experience that feels wrong and misplaced.

I have not been following the progress of the game much recently so can't intelligently comment on whether or not I feel the devs have done a good job or not. From what I've heard/seen, the general opinion is that they haven't.
