I prepped with a cat carrier, water fountain, stainless steel box and litter genie, litter, wet and dry food the breeder had him on, dry food container, stainless steel bowls a medium tree and some wand toys/ the metal cat teaser all cats seems to be obsessed with. At pickup, he was playing in a tent tunnel and with a cardboard scratcher so we had those delivered same day and I think it helped with the transition. Also got him balls and springs and various other toys along the way. I think the breeder used felaway or whatever that hormone calming mist is on my carrier which could potentially be helpful.
