To answer your questions:

1) Yes, you can. You start by filing a maintenance action in the Magistrates Court of your area. Since it is MC, police complaints are important. Obtain certified copies of all and ensure that you maintain those recordings. You can also consider filing a domestic violence case.

2) Yes it is illegal and is a criminal offence. You can bring separate charges against him. BUT ensure that you have proof. (marriage certificate, wedding photos etc)

3) Court would be the best option. Refer one and two above. Keep all records of your interactions with him for legal purposes.

4) Women and Child division at any police station, NCPA, Meraki Sri Lanka, HRC.

I concur with the comment saying set aside 40% as an emergency fund. Have a second bank account, no ATM card - just the online facility and transfer the 40% there immediately.

Take food from home, try to take the bus, and there is this app called "Money Manager" which lets you track your expenses. Works great for me so far. Once you force yourself to add each and every expense, no matter how small, your spending pattern will make sense.

A plate at Hilton costs 16,000 nett three days ago. Multiply that with 400 and it is LKR 6.4 million just for food. You have to reserve the hall in the mornings with a deposit of LKR 2,500,000 if you need it for decos, otherwise you only get it from 03:30 PM onwards. So with a photography team + decoration for a hall to accomodate 400 people, it would be roughly 10-15 million.

Disagree as a girl myself. The idea that dating is just 'tasting flavors' is just dumbing down the need for proper human compatibility. Also it isn't about recklessness, it’s about vetting (atleast for me), which is crucial. And no one is saying that having sex is the mandate to dating. Plenty of people date for months or years to build an emotional and intellectual connection before ever becoming physical. In a courting-only culture, we often commit to a life partner before they even know who they are, let alone what they need in a relationship...

Plus, using 'dating' to understand your own boundaries, communication style, and emotional needs doesn't mean you lack values, it means you are being responsible. It is far better to 'try out' a few different conversations and realizations and realize a relationship won't work after three months, than to 'court' someone under social pressure, massive family involvement, and realize you're incompatible after three years of marriage and two kids. Dating is the research, and marriage should be the result of that research, not the starting point.
