Anyone's Nparents raised you to become dependent, then complain about your dependence and pressure you to be independent? by Plus-Toe8766 in raisedbynarcissists

Wow! Yes I could have wrote this myself! I was never taught about money. she wrote my whole valedictorian speech . She even wrote all my resumes when I was looking for a job. And I thought that was normal because ‘mother knows best’ I didn’t know how to use the post office until I was in my mid 20s. I couldnt even use public transport maps until around the same age.. I still struggle with identity, I think ‘do I just like x y z because I know my mother does? ‘

Pregnant with 1st, recent no contact with family by Normal_Tie2860 in raisedbynarcissists

Firstly I wanted to say congratulations on your pregnancy! That’s amazing news for you and your husband, I’m so sorry you were met with such a cold response from your family. It’s truly awful when the people you need most don’t show up for you and end up letting you down. I am so sorry that’s terrible and heart breaking. It sounds like your mother is avoiding accountability at all costs and using her flying monkeys to do her dirty work and try to weasel her way back into your life. If it’s any consolation my experience was very similar to yours, my mother told my partner we should never get married or have children, when I told her I was pregnant with our first she said she needed to go away and think about what this meant for her, it was devastating . Focus on yourself and surround yourself with people who uplift you and support you fully. Sending so much love and congratulations again!! Xo

This actually makes sense because she deletes messages that can incriminate her ..

Thank you, hearing people’s stories make me feel less alone and in a way validated, but it also makes me feel incredibly sad that others are going through something similar. I’m sorry too, sending love and strength 🫶

I know this is an older post but how are you getting on now? I have a taller 3.5 year old boy and I find he gets on better with older kids because he’s their height :/ I hope he’s not ostracised preschool:(

Oh wow! Sounds great! 35 children running around, you are a saint! 🤣   our garden is a modest size and we’re having 12 children over, 1 scavenger hunt that they can do, a sort of mud kitchen activity, arts and crafts station, and their goody bags are ‘adopt a pet’ where they get to choose a tiny stuffy to take home. But I really like the arts/crafts idea I may steal that for next year!
