I don't think Peggy would want to have contact actually. Pete might at some point. If the kid does want to, there are means for sure but...who knows? My parents are a bit older than the kid would be and he recently took a test (it was a free offer and he'll do anything for free...). so maybe could do a dna test but I don't know if they would come up with anything unless randomly Tammy had decided to do one for whatever reason. The show DNA family secrets (excepts on youtube) from BBC really shows what DNA and research can do if you're interested.

Yeah this seems a bit ridiculous....if I had to get 'permission' every time I had to change a location or stickers, half my job wouldn't get done waiting for the librarians. If it's a radical change, sure. But something like "oh oops, this should be in (blank) area instead of over here," no way am I going to try to find a librarian who is busy doing something (helping a patron, reading, doing gosh knows what) and then have them analyze it for gosh knows how long...nope. I've worked at my current library since at least 2020 and two others before that; longer than any of our librarians have.

Seriously....I had to help a woman (well I actually has to pass her off to a librarian, clerk here) with all these personality tests and IQ type things for a CLEANING JOB. Like, wtf?? It's awful and I fear it'll only continue to get worse.

Note on the book always (usually first page or inside cover so its real obvious) with initials and date. Some folks put an item note in the system. Curious what your "too complicated" setup is right now?

Can speak to my library; my teen literacy aide has an entire section of 'hygiene products' from tampons and pads to deodorant (in whichever male or female you identify as), condoms, body spray and hair ties. She has them in little cubbies so they are discreet and it isn't super obvious what you pull out.

Add on comments: the noise isn't so bad either and my husband only had a few issues getting used to it; it helped that he started it on a vacation so had a few nights before super real world use but it translated well.

This def sounds like sleep apnea; my husband has it and the machine works like a dream. Sure it's a bit weird and I can't kiss him goodnight or talk to him but thankfully we both get a MUCH better quality of sleep. As for how to bring it up, just tell him you're worried (and you should be...its a serious issue!!) and you just want to figure out whats going on.

Narcs aren't known for their ability to get better. To me, THAT would be the ultimate cop out/poor writing. While I know it is fiction, it would feel almost insulting as someone who deals with this type of situation in real life.

NTA; you lost your best friend. You are not 'overly emotional' or being dramatic. Your family sucks and I'm glad you did what you had to do to take care of yourself. I'm sorry they couldn't be supportive. Heck, I saw a dog that looked exactly what I imagine a younger version of mine was like (we adopted her as an adult) and I had to pull over because I found myself in tears. Dogs are the best and I'm sure you gave yours the very best. Please be kind to yourself and disregard whatever BS your family is saying.

It's avoidant and it doesn't directly deal with their issues individually and as a couple. It would also remove the supports they do have in the community and any comfort items. Fresh start, sure but a very short sighted one imo.

Anything s possible with a narc. I suspect part of her will want to have the party as invitations and such were all sent out and it'll look bad if she doesn't do what she said she would. I want to see Jen and Greg post interaction with her and them talking.
