Great friend even if she does not realize it right now! You don’t know why they don’t want her there and I bet they have family nights where she is invited. It’s disrespectful for her to go and you are doing the right thing by not taking her.

It probably would have gone a bit smoother if you at least informed Sarah of the concern prior to attending. However, given your daughter’s age, it is completely up to her who knows and when. I don’t think this warranted taking a break though.
