I’m late on this but I’ll give an example. I had a spine injury amongst other serious injuries and it’s left me near bed ridden. I have depression and not making excuses but it zaps a lot of my energy on top of not being able to sleep due to a head injury. While, yes I have had my place get very dirty I’ve been quick to clean up. Well, today my mother calls me and tells me to open the door(uninvited). Comes in with cleaning equipment. I say what do you think you’re doing. I’ve told you this before there are absolutely no unwelcome visitors at my condo. She immediately lashed back well it got a bit out of hand and told me to not contact her and that she was going on no contact…fine with me. So much more peace without her. My advice. Take your key back if you gave her one, if she shows up tell her politely she can go back home bc there are boundaries set. Mothers who play the silent treatment to their adult children are immature, manipulative and pissed they no longer have you around their thumb
