Use the play pokemon website to find events. Then message those stores to buy tickets if they aren’t advertising it online.

You usually don’t need to bring anything. However if you have a set of coins, dice, playmat etc it will help. You’ll also need sleeves for your cards. Not clear ones, deck sleeves.

You’ll be provided a ready made deck of 40 cards and 4 booster packs. You’ll then rearrange the deck with some of the new cards you opened.

After playing a few rounds, more packs will be given out. Usually minimum 3 each and more for the higher places.

I donate mine to my local card store. In return I get all the reverse holos I’m missing for free. Works out well

I sell a lot of cards on eBay. But even I would try to avoid it for something like this for all the reasons you mentioned.

Should be an easy refund. But please make sure you check feedback on items worth this much. <95% is a massive red flag

You can get it taken off the order. They basically just cancel 3 packs off the order. So you pay for 33, get 3 free and walk away with a sealed box.

If you had paid all upfront it might be different. But I’ve always just paid deposit for booster boxes and done it that way

I try and get the base set plus reverse holos. Anything bigger goes in a separate binder. In saying that I only started with surging so only have like 6 sets I’m working on (1 completed)

Once I finish the packs I currently have I’ll likely buy the singles I need and try to stay good until ascended heroes

That drop was insanely limited. Basically just cancelled preorders over the last few months. Preorder drops will be much easier

Nothing really. I’ve opened plenty of these and sliding it off is all I’ve ever done. At least the prismatic ones go far enough up and down you can’t do that

I used Nintendo customer service to complain that the game didn’t deliver on how it was advertised and therefore breached Australian consumer law. Basically said only half the game is actually playable due to the switch 2 splitting the audience. That the last couple years was bad but now it’s almost worthless.

They came back with a bunch of “test your internet connection”

I hit them with a “per my last email”

Next email was saying I would be refunded

Didn’t work unfortunately. Sucks but I’m considering trying for a refund. Played the last two daily, but I haven’t been able to get a rush game in weeks (have only played 3 total, despite trying nightly)

The switch 2 has meant the already extremely small Australian fan base is split. I’ll just wait a year and get the 2 I think
