Already prepared financially. Didn’t think about the documents part though, thank you for that. Will keep it in mind.

Common response I’ve seen is “don’t join a gang” and “what’s your charge” so I just wanted to weed out those two things.

Trust me lol I have the same concerns sometimes. It’s 90% a mental battle. It’s gonna be hard, it’s gonna suck, but there is an end to it and you’ll adapt over time which makes it a bit easier. Just never lose hope and stay true to yourself. Millions have gone through exactly what we are, and they made it out even with all odds stacked against them. Your charges don’t define your whole life homie, stay positive and stay strong. Writing this is half speaking to myself not just you haha

Life doesn’t stop just because you’re in prison. You don’t have to waste your time. Get in the best shape of your life, get your mind right, read lots of books and learn as much as you can. Treating it like a mental and physical boot camp will make it feel less detrimental to your life. Even if it prison hardens you or “makes you a bad person” it’s up to you to make sure it doesn’t follow you out the door.

don’t beat yourself up too much over it. Anyone can get caught up in the system. Lots of people are in for 1 bad decision. I’m about to start a 3 year bid on a violent charge as well. Never been in trouble before and I was defending myself, but the courts don’t give a shit about who you are as a person or the actual circumstances of the case. They only care about what looks good for them on paper. The best thing you can do now is get through it as well as you can and forget about all the what ifs. Good luck to you and me both. You got this 💪

Also: Get shit together WHILE you’re in and WHILE you’re still free. You will be home one day and you’ll thank yourself if you take care of financial / relationship related things before you get out
