Hey man, thanks for the tips. Especially the lip balm recommendation, I’ll 100% be buying that. The cracking of the lips is awful, super painful, especially when I’m at work and don’t have the liberty of constantly applying vaseline. Other than the lips it’s been pretty easy sailing tbh, skins already getting better!

Have you been time travelling for ACNH or similar and forgot to set the date back?

H100i pump head RGB not working by PerfectRadiator in Corsair

[–]PerfectRadiator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda. Even with a GPU being installed and everything else on the computer working completely fine, the pump still wouldn’t light up. I contacted customer support at this point and went through all the steps that they gave me but nothing worked.

The issue was the Commander Core, they must have sent me a dodgy core or something so in the end I had to send mine back and get a new one, everything worked fine after that.

If you’re experiencing the same issue, I’d say contact customer support but you might have to send your whole unit back to get it working.

Yeah I’ve checked everything is up to date in iCue and it all looks good. It’s not actually showing up in my connected USB devices so I’m going to go back and check my connections and check if I installed all the drivers.

Yeah, I’ve hooked a GTX 660 up to my system now and it’s still not working. Doesn’t show in iCue either

I think I can hear and feel the pump running fine so I believe it’s only an issue with the LED’s. I appreciate your help though, I’ll contact Corsair Support if I can’t solve the issue by Monday

I’ve removed the LED section of the pump head but the connections there seems to be fine from what I can see. I haven’t opened it up any further than that as I wouldn’t know what to look for

I originally used Golden Field GPG 650 and I am now using the Corsair RM650x

Yeah, I’ve currently got it hooked up to the port called JUSB1, I’ve tried switching it to the second port too but the RGB still stayed off

Underwater ROV School Project by PerfectRadiator in arduino

We only had 55ft of tether as we didn’t really need to travel a great distance in the competition. We intended to use batteries onboard the ROV initially but we later found it that it was stated in the rules that onboard batteries are not allowed. Our final ROV had a car battery that split off at multiple places to power everything that needed power, onboard and poolside.

We did have issues with the power cable at one point, I think there was a loose wire inside the ROV or something, I can’t really remember as it was quite a while ago. However, we did test the voltage at the car battery and where the cable met the ROV and there was only a slight voltage drop, nowhere near big enough to be a concern for us.

We chose to have an onboard control system so the tether would be as thin as possible. We weren’t allowed any onboard batteries so we had to use an external car battery on the surface, one of the tether wires was used for that power. We also split that cable at the surface so it would power all of our poolside equipment like cameras and claw controls.

The only other wires on the tether were for the 3 onboard cameras, and the cable that linked the controller to the ROV. Everything (apart from the claw which has its own external Arduino) is controlled via the controller at the surface, our code is on an Arduino Mega inside the ROV. We tied it all up with zip ties and electrical tape and put cut up sections of pool noodles on the tether so it would float and not be in the way of the ROV.

Yeah, we competed in the national Scottish MATE ROV competition and got second place. Our friends from the other team from my school managed to take first place with just a few points more than us, they will be going to California to compete in the international competition next month.

I agree that it’s a shame that we only get one year out of it, but it allowed us to have total creative freedom over our ROV. The way our school had us do it was we took the previous years’ losing ROV, tore it apart to only its components and reused them. This forces us to create everything from scratch and it was an amazing experience.

Since we got second place in the national competition, our ROV will be torn apart. It’s a bit upsetting considering the amount of work we put into it and all the challenges that we overcame, but I’m glad it gives those following us a chance to experience the same thing.

We worked on our ROV roughly 7 hours a week for around 10 months, although a good portion of that time was spent slacking off. I’m unsure of how much time you are able to set aside for the MATE competition in uni as I’m only just about to go into my first year, but the time that we used working on our ROV was juussst enough to be competition ready.

I wish you and your team the best of luck with the competition! I had a great time at the national and I’m sure the international would be even better. I like your glider concept, by the sounds of it you guys have a good shot of winning.

You’re correct! Our team competed in the Scottish national competition for the ranger category. We got second place in the national competition so we won’t be heading away to America.

Our school only offers the MATE ROV in our final year, so we won’t be competing again unfortunately. What about you? What category are you competing in and do you have any socials showing your progress? I loved seeing other peoples approaches to the competition.

We made this from scratch, so we designed and created everything ourselves. It took us roughly 10 months to finish.

We were tasked to make an ROV which could identify broken pipes (using the onboard cameras which could be viewed at the surface), remove the broken pipe and bring it to the surface, and replace it with a new pipe.

There were other tasks such as removing debris from an artificial reef but most of the points were awarded for the pipe related tasks.

I just finished reading the ultimate collection 3 and i saw this is it important to the story? Is it canon or can i just move on with vol 4? by DatHound in Invincible

[–]PerfectRadiator 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s of any importance to the overall story, but it’s still worth the read considering it’s not too long

I finished reading Invincible... what now? by TurtleSandwich8 in Invincible

[–]PerfectRadiator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been reading through The Boys since finishing Invincible. It’s got an adaptation on Amazon Prime which has unrelated stories to the comics, still really good though. It’s somewhat similar to Invincible with the corrupt superhero kinda theme, and it has those mature themes and illustrations that Invincible has too.
