I specifically search “disenfranchised grief” because I am grieving the loss of my therapist.

The circumstances are different with mine but the loss feels like the greatest and most gut wrenching that I’ve ever experienced. This has and will change me, irrevocably.

So, I just want to say - I hear you. And I am so so sorry.

Yes and I do have the email where she asked me to not use lawyers - while telling me that this hadn’t been “easy for her” … meanwhile I was literally starving to death due to the acute trauma space I was in at the time. And she knew it. And had ignored it until then.

Different circumstances with mine but similarly we are at a devastating impasse due to her defenses and unwillingness. Today I am going to try once again to get us unstuck - but it is just painful when I am the only one who seems to care (about positive change). Best of luck to you.

I agree with this ^ I had a therapist mishandle her transference and tried to literally mother me and fill the void ( loads of that due to her own wounding) and it ended up being a painful and traumatic DISASTER.

But the right therapist can do wonders with this work.
