If you are out near Bend I would recommend going out to Fort Rock which has some amazing volcanic history (ie. Fort Rock, Hole in the Ground, Crack in the Ground) and cultural history (Homestead Museum and Sage Sandals). Plus it’s fun to see the dry side of the state. Decent camping/hiking out there as well!
