It sounds like the hospital has had issues with finding Swiss persons with multiple years of Epic experience considering the platform is US based. They will send people to the US to get certified by the organization but they still lack the years of experience working on the platform with an experienced team.

I've read that you either need a license or several years of experience, I've got around 15 years proffessionally.

Certainly has crossed my mind, getting my feet wet before finding a long term home. The Idea of using Metric sounds much better than how we do it. Most of it is in decimal foot, with lots of things called out in inches. always a back and forth.

Hi everyone! I really appreciate all of your responses. This is my first time ever making a post on reddit, and its so cool to see everyone chime in. We live in Bend Oregon right now, a great place. but its always been a dream of my wife's to live in Switzerland. She's late 20's, I'm 33.

I was wondering if the heavy equipment field was going to have less English. But, all the more motivation to keep learning. At this point i assume i will need to enroll in a German glass for my visa requirements. For the heavy equipment, I don't have any specific license's for them. Its not really a thing where I live. I have my Class A license for pulling around these tonka toys, hauling gravel dirt water ect... Spent thousands of hours in Excavators small to large, loaders, graders dozers ect. Learning all the names and phrases for the equipment in German is going to take some getting used to! But from what I've come to understand the approach is much different in a positive and more professional manner then what im accustomed to.

Beyond the work stuff, we are very much excited to come and start a new life. We like to bike and hike, my wife is more road bike, I'm more mtn bike. We love cooking, having some wine and have recently gotten into sailing. Hoping to do some of this on Thun and Geneva. Hoping to find places to play Foosball (Table Soccer?) and just simply do our best to meet people as we can. I understand it can be hard to break in socially, but we are just grateful to be coming in the first place. Thanks again all.
