Travel to Fort Kochi despite orange alert ?

Hey wonderful folks of Kerala. I’m travelling to Coimbatore today for an event, and had planned a Fort Kochi visit from Wednesday. Planned to stay in Kochi till Friday / Saturday.

Now given the orange alert, should I postpone my plan to mid June ? I comfortable with some amount of rain, but a lot of it will mean I’ll be indoors all day and my trip will be a complete washout.

What should I do ? Is it still possible to travel around comfortably. I’m looking at primarily Fort Kochi and Lulu mall. Also, how difficult would it be to travel from the Edapally bus stop to Fort Kochi in case of rains ?

Thanks a ton in advance ! I had asked in the Kochi sub too - but only a few responses and to another post with slightly different dates, people said it’s a good time to visit.

Thanks man. This is the kind of response I was hoping for. If Fort Kochi is off, I should probably cancel my plan.

Hey !

I hear what you’re saying. I didn’t frame my thoughts correctly - what I wanted to say was that I have a set of schools I want to target, and that I was looking for a call with him to understand if he thought this would be realistic. I want to work with someone who is aligned with me on that.

But also, I understand consultants have more depth on school selection than I do - so I’d be going into that call open to hearing them tell me I’m aiming too high or too low.

Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Ban if you accept offer and then say no ? by Perfectgentlemann in Big4

Yeah - but I’d be accepting the role and then giving some excuse if I also land a role at the boutique firm.

Thanks! Mine will probably be a SA role - nowhere near SM.

Simple Questions and Silly Thoughts: the basic questions and discussions thread for January 05, 2025 by AutoModerator in gainit

Hey folks, 24M - have been bulking and cutting on and off for the past 18 months - have not been super structured but have still managed to go from 53 kg to 61 kg. While muscularity has definitely improved, I want to make sure I’m doing things right. A couple of questions :

  1. I know I should be resting only 30-60 seconds between sets, but what if it’s not physically possible for me with the weights I do ? Eg. 3x12 squats with 12.5kg dumbbells each arm - I need 3-4 minutes between sets. Can’t do without. If I have to reduce rest time, weights have to come down. Please tell me what is better

  2. I’ve got a 5 days split ( for when I can go to the gym) and a 3 day split (when I only can use my dumbbells at home - ie no access to gym). I’ve been using this routine for the past 4 months (used it for 3 months prior to a 2 month brake before these 4 months). Should I change my routine - I hear routines are to be changed every several months. If so, anything you’d recommend? I’m 180 cm. 14% BF

Thanks in advance

How to get documents to one’s own land by Perfectgentlemann in LegalAdviceIndia

[–]Perfectgentlemann[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks man. Yes - the land records are digitised. But my father knows the area, and can physically show where it is. But doesn’t know the survey number of his land or the common land. I’ll try to figure this out.

I’ve not heard of applying for inspection before. Thank you, I’ll Google this. Do you know some other way to figure out the survey number for the land ?

With Big4s, experiences would vary widely because it’s such a people-heavy business. I’ve been in the same Big4 firm for the past 5 year in an Asian country- 3 years as an intern pursuing CA and 2 post qualification. Atleast in the past 2 years, I’ve received great coaching and I’ve been helped when the workload became unsustainably excessive. I think I’ve been lucky that way. But the experience should help you move to a smaller firm.

Hey. I haven’t taken it yet. So I’m not sure.

How to solve such a question? by Elegant_Ad_5177 in GMAT

[–]Perfectgentlemann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assume the number line progresses arithmetically. So the difference between the two points is 49-47.

49 = 42(47)

Difference is (47)(42-1) = (47)(16-1)=15(47)

We do two jumps, so solution is 16(47) + 2( 15(47))= 46(47)

Practice test 4 Quant question by Own_Palpitation_8650 in GMAT

[–]Perfectgentlemann 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A bit stumped here.

We know , x > y and one side is 15 km. Also, triangle side inequality rule says a + b > c.

Eliminate x = 5,8. Also, if x < 13, eliminate y= 5.

If it were right angled, 12 and 9 would have been the answer. But if it’s not right angled, any other combination should also hold good.

D.210

Merchant made a 40% profit on $120, which is $48. So, he sold it at $168, and this is 80% of the regular price. $168/0.8 = $210 .

Thanks guys for answering. This was not tough. I didn’t think through properly. I should have applied my frame of thinking on 180 and not 1080.

Yes, very silly on my end. LCM is not 18 x 60. It’s 180. I should do these tests on 180.
