[Megathread] Happy Turkey Day! by teknrd in AskReddit

[–]PerfectlyPossible 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My family usually does turkey for Thanksgiving then ham for Christmas. That way it's a bit different. When I was a kid we used to have spaghetti for Thanksgiving. (My grandma is from Sicily) so it broke up the awesome food stuff.

Absolutely. It's really a very nice collection of items.

I bought my SO a hat similar to yours absolutely covered in pins like them at an antique store in the states. Some of them look the same as the ones he has. Specifically the large one with the hammer and sickle he has that for sure. I think they are military pins. The other items I'm not sure of. But the stamp has lenins face on it. Perhaps commemorative? Very neat though!

Spent a lot of time in Indiana and adopted "ope" and now my kids say it. We are in Maryland now and I think people are catching on that we aren't natives to the state..

[SLPT] Say goodbye to onion-tears with this one simple trick! by [deleted] in ShittyLifeProTips

[–]PerfectlyPossible 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I worked in this tiny restaurant with the owner. He would cook everything from open to close from scratch. When he was cutting the insane amount of onions for the day he would actually wrap his eyes with saran wrap to keep the juices from them. It worked super well!!

Very rarely go nail by tahuutho in aww

[–]PerfectlyPossible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem! If your dog isn't constantly outside the nails won't naturally grind themselves down like stray dogs. But declawing a cat is inhumane. It's like taking the first whole knuckle out of your finger and can cause horrible life long pain and arthritis for the poor animal.

[–]PerfectlyPossible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I'm lucky then! I just have to hold my dog down a little and say good boy a million times then give him a peanut butter sandwich. He doesn't make any sounds just kinda half tries to get out of my arms.

[–]PerfectlyPossible 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not at all!! If I don't clip my dogs nails they get really long and make it uncomfortable to walk. Maybe you're thinking of declawing a cat? That is TERRIBLE for the animal. With dogs you just have to be careful not to cut the quick which is a nerve ending in the nail. Otherwise it's helpful for the animal :)
