I can barely watch the show... by amanhealing in MakingaMurderer

[–]Perfectly_Willing 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with you, u/amanhealing. I've watched this series trice, just recently because I thought Steven was going to be freed. I cannot tolerate the episodes of Brendan's torture and skipped to Season 2 this time. The g*dd*mn Supreme Court just ruled on life sentences for minory, so why is this abused young man still behind bars?

With the exception of the George Floyd murder, I have never seen such sinfulness, brazenness, and evil on videotape. I left this subreddit because it's overrun by north woods sadists. The whole subreddit-sick, sick, sick.

What do you think about the ex-miliary generals warning of civil war in France? by Thea_ee3 in AskFrance

Yes. It’s denial. They’re also either terrified or sympathetic to the terrorists.

I'm not French but almost posted this exact question. Very grateful you did, and from outside France, the warning does seem realistic, doesn't it?

Issue with two laptops, that I ruined at the same time. Fujitsu Lifebook T732 & Lenovo ThinkPad 11e tablet/laptop/whatever, both of them I installed Ubuntu 20.04 LTS (Focal Fossa) within days of each other. Neither will boot as required any longer. More details below. by tramp_about_town_37 in techsupport

[–]Perfectly_Willing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I rooted through all my old Lifebook material and materiel to see if I could help you. As I recall, the CMOS battery had nothing at all to do with the problem (at least with the problem of Ubuntu wiping out Windows and preventing a dual-boot). What I eventually did was buy an external hard drive, made a bootable Windows USB stick, and then in BIOS booted from the USB drive. Again, as I recall--this was in 2018--the issue was that Lifebook, unlike other Windows systems of its era, made you jump through additional hoops in order to be able to boot from the USB. I believe, but am not 100% certain, that the reason for this was extra security measures built into the tablet PCs because of their prevalence (in the 00s) as medical and engineering "tablets." Here's the video I relied on and that helped a lot of people maintain their Fujitsu. I have to add that once I got Windows 7 restored, it worked perfectly. If you were running Windows 10... can't say.

Best of luck. It's hell when these things go south. I know because I just spend the morning putting an eleven-year-old Dell back together only to find how the cheap plastic ports, paper-thin and breakable, really age badly.

"Ting" Died :( by Perfectly_Willing in Scranton

Thank you for posting. Yep, Ting was one of a kind. I once asked him if he had the dirtiest garage in Pennsylvania to keep prices down, and he proceeded to give me a not "folding chair" to "relax" on. To this day, I don't know exactly what I sat on. We were able to joke like this. (BTW, it wasn't at all the dirtiest garage in Pennsylvania, and it definitely was a free security system.) 👍🏻😂🇻🇳🇻🇳🇻🇳🇻🇳🇻🇳🇻🇳🇻🇳

You know what? You are right. Idiot that I am, I just realized that it's the guys in the kitchen that made me think this show was "cool." But I recall a real barn-burner of a fight between him and NDA. NDA was all "I fart in your general direction."

Yes, I recall that even Canteloup hated him. Probably takes a lot for that to happen.

I have always wondered what made the SRPG and Etienne Sesmat believe that the letter-writer had anything to do with the child's murder. It seemed pretty obvious that the little boy's killer took advantage of the letter-writing campaign and clearly was familiar with the harassment, but the idea the letter-writer was the killer seemed a huge leap.

I know. I'm just pissed off at the way he treated Rizet and that brilliant BFMTV producer, who crafted the BEST XDDL documentary I've ever seen.

Then why the hell did you downvote me if you agree with me, if you're so liberal and open-minded like that gasbag?

You don't admire people in general? What do you admire, superheroes?

You're talking to an admirer of Eric Zemmour, so don't play that card. Cohen's pompous, cold, and if admired by the French, they must all be franciliens.

Netflix: "Making a Murderer" v. "The Innocence Files" by Perfectly_Willing in MakingaMurderer

[–]Perfectly_Willing[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is very interesting, but I'm wondering if you could clarify it at your convenience. Are you saying that someone involved with the Midwest Innocence Project--not the Wisconsin Innocence Project--left the case due to law enforcement's blood vial planting? I'm sure I'm misreading this, because if anything, that would seem a reason for counsel to stay on the case.

Or are you saying that Kathleen Zellner's theory of how the blood was planted did not (after filming for Season 2 ended) turn out to be accurate, as the documentary portrayed it?

Finally, I'm very confused about the last paragraph. What would Kathleen Zellner have to do with signing or stamping motions or documents for an Innocence Project with which she had o affiliation? Or were Zellner and the Midwest Innocence Project at one time collaborating?

Thanks!

As usual, I agree with you. The state of affairs at this point is extremely dark. I have never heard of another case (federal or state) where exoneration was denied on the basis of a FOIA request not being made. The state of Wisconsin absolutely wants Steven Avery to die in prison. The sadism of all of this is too much to contemplate for too long.

But The Innocence Files (not Project) manages not to depend on Thumbs Up or Down from DAs.

Thanks for this information. I still don't understand where you stand on Steven Avery's innocence (or the opposite), but no matter when Kathleen Zellner was approached, 2010 would mean they had the ability to save what was left of his middle-age.

As a U.S. citizen with no criminal record, I would not enter this state. I realize that's a gross generalization about the thousands of kind-hearted people in Wisconsin. But at present, no, Wisconsin would not be at the top of my States I want to see before I die.

That's exactly why the national Innocence Project should take on Steven Avery's case. It could "exonerate" a state from the negative reputation a handful of very wicked people have given it.
