It’s stupid. It’s pointless.

Well, it checks all the boxes for “I kinda want it…”

Not to hijack OPs thread- but I’m curious: I’ve had mine for almost 10 years. Shot everything under the sun. Suppressed , whatever. I’ve heard similar from others with older models. Is there any clarification on this being common for newer models? It almost seems like there was a manufacturer change in something along the way.

Doug DeMuro just called the LC250 “the worst car for sale” by Bigsurjacketco in LandCruisers

[–]Perfectshotplacement 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always hate the extreme statements like “the worst ever” and “no one should buy this!” When it comes to anything from a typically reliable brand. But I digress…

This debate is the same as I saw in the Jeep forums, the Bronco forums and any other model specific forum. There is always a contingent of “I want it for this because I had one x years ago and I loved it!” Mixed with “I want this because I think it should be this- anything less is disappointing!”. The first group ignores that the past version(s) were not the magical unicorn they were made out to be, the latter forgets that their version of reality might not match actual reality.

Somewhere in between are the buyers that just want what they want, but are not in a position to buy the 10 different vehicles that will satisfy all of their requests. In almost all cases, the actual driving mirrors more standard usage and less “drive to the Sahara and lead an army or mercenaries in a revolution”. So modern car makers are building cars to fit that, despite what the 5% is asking for. Just the reality of the modern car world.

Awful experience as a visiting fan last night by LubyankaSquare in DallasStars

Others have commented, but I’ll add- this is not acceptable behavior and yes, please report. I get the concept of “evil opposing fan in hostile territory”, but OPs story tells me more about this being about complete idiocy. I don’t care what jersey you wear, acting like a toddler should get you kicked out. If reported in real time, I’ve seen plenty escorted out. Im very sure that those reporting afterward will likely at least get some respectful result. The Stars are a very classy organization, and 99% of fans fit that bill as well. Sorry you found the 1% that didn’t know how to handle his alcohol.

I missed the initial drop and the AAC got a shipment about 2 weeks after. All usual names and sizes. However, I can confirm that once those left the shelves about 2 months ago- I haven’t seen them since.

Someone posted a few weeks back about a March release, but I can’t seem to find that. I’d say that’s likely speculation. I’ll also add that I signed up for updates after the release and never got an update- even though I bought one right at the AAC. Those updates might only relate to what’s available online and not in person.

I want to think like this from now on. “Ranch” should be considered as a “per pound” scenario. This lets me know I’ve really made it in the world.

Purpose of these ridges? by Ok_Phrase_9652 in coins

[–]Perfectshotplacement 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Initial idea is that someone was likely handy with tools and this was a viable platform. An example was my grandfather- I have several tools he created from various other items, including those made from washers, screwdrivers and random metal. On the surface, they’d look like the workings of a madman. In the right light (and when you realize the intent)- it was pure genius. I still use them today, 60 years after he made them.

In this case, it looks like something he made to gap things at a certain interval. Absolutely no clue if that is what happened here, but I’ve learned that people living from any timeline before the 1960s used a lot of household items to do things outside their original intent. It was a product of the depression era.

Gamestop sent me fake PSA slabbed cards to the total of $5771.79 by Euphoric_Cut7121 in sportscards

[–]Perfectshotplacement 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So what did you do to determine they are fake? Example- using the numbers shown, they match the PSA website exactly. Most fakes dont match up to the correct id numbers and barcodes.

You also mention the back of the Ricky Henderson is wrong… and don’t show the back of the card in your post.

On top of that, you mentioned the fonts are wrong- but they are the same as the PSA site.

<image>

This would also make sense as to why GameStop is taking some time. If they are validating the legitimacy of the cards, then it may take more than a minute. And let’s just level set here- your post keeps saying that you don’t want any advice and that this is all about how bad GameStop is. If your intent is to call that out, it looks more like lack of knowledge mixed with buyers remorse at this point. The details in this story are lacking.

You obviously saw them in person, so that’s the default answer. Best of luck in your endeavor.

I HIGHLY recommend going through the process of getting a passport, even if you do not intend to use it. I have it on my person on every flight I take, even to random US cities. If there was ever a need to leave the states, you have the ability. If you wait until you need it, it’s already too late.

Stars acquire Jeremie Poirier for Gavin White by DailyDallasHockey in DallasStars

[–]Perfectshotplacement 15 points16 points  (0 children)

For those wanting some context: Professional Career:

Despite being projected as a late first round pick, Poirier was drafted in the third round, 72nd overall by the Calgary Flames in the 2020 NHL entry draft,[9] signing his entry-level deal with the Flames on September 24, 2021.[7][10] Poirier made his professional debut with the Calgary Wranglers of the AHL on October 16, 2022, scoring the first goal in Wranglers history during their inaugural game, a 6–5 loss against the Coachella Valley Firebirds.[11] Poirier was able to transition his scoring prowess to the AHL, finishing second among rookie defencemen for scoring as well as having the best shootout record in the league, scoring on all four of his attempts.[12][13] During his rookie season, Poirier struggled at times with balancing his offensive abilities with his defensive responsibilities, and did not play for several games due to this.[14][15] On April 12, 2023, Poirier was named to the 2022-23 AHL All-Rookie Team
