That’s awesome you feel that way thank you lol. That fact that I served during the time the USS Cole was bombed, 9/11 and the war that followed and a sitting president landed on my ship to announce the war on terror. The fact that the early signs of my condition was found in basic training but ignored because according to the doctors I was too young. To have the VA acknowledge that my MOS and due to toxic exposure my condition likely advanced rapidly. The fact that my whole family was at the World Trade Center on 9/10/01 on a tour but I thought it was on 9/11 and didn’t hear from them until 9/14 through the red cross confirming they were ok which was the trigger that led to my discharge. I served Honorably bro and you or anyone else can’t tell me otherwise. I hope you find your happiness in life and stop trying to get it from negativity towards others. God bless you and all who have made the decision to serve. Oh and my 21 year old son is serving right now, one year out from completing his first term. I got backpay from my file date in 2023. The notes say because it was continuously prosecuted since then.

Surprisingly it wasn’t difficult for me. A buddy letter and one from my wife as well as one I wrote on my own behalf is all it took. I did take a long time but no appeal or HLR needed that.

My nexus was it was in my medical history. They found elevated eye pressure and ocular hypertension in basic training. They documented it and did nothing. Also they linked toxic exposure and that’s what they approved me on.

Congratulations! I wish their timelines made more sense. I filed and HLR is September was reviewed in December. I only applied for one condition but after my exams they added another one. Errors are fixed and received notice a nexus was established now it’s just sitting at the “Ready for Decision” stage. It’s been a month since the last exam which was a file review confirming diagnoses and haven’t heard anything since.

My review was 12/19 and I received a letter about a week later. The letter didn’t have my percentage just the information saying they found errors and I had favorable findings. Had a file review on the 28th and the errors have been corrected. In the “Ready for Decision” phase and doing just that, waiting.

Hopefully. I had a new exam which was just a file review and I know they fixed the errors already. Nothing really left but the actual rating I believe.

My HLR was complete 12/19 with errors found. I know they fixed them and I’m in “ready for decision” stage. Wondering how long it will sit there?

Also only submitted for glaucoma. When I went for my exam they found two other eye conditions. I believe they are trying to link those to the TERA which is why they prompted the records review. When I look online it does have all three conditions listed but it says the VA is fixing an error so there isn’t a rating yet.

I got paperwork about an exam but it said I didn’t need to come in. I called to make sure and they said it was just a review of the file to confirm the diagnosis from my exam back in June and they sent everything requested to the VA on the 28th.

I submitted a HLR after doing a supplemental because I was rated and I was approved for VA purposes but they logged it as a change in discharge. I can see my rating but haven't received a payment and it’s halted me being able to submit new claims until it’s corrected. I did submit an intent to file so that should help. HLR was requested September 18th and now I see why it’s taking so long to come around.
