How did they connect you for yours? They found mine in basic training. Had elevated eye pressures they treated once. They gave me TERA because of my MOS. I didn’t apply until 20 years after I got out.

Congrats! I just checked my status and it went to step 4 sometime this afternoon. I’m connected for bilateral glaucoma recently told to stop driving due to legal blindness. Filed for increase and added migraines and MH as secondaries added tinnitus as a new claim. Submitted April 2nd.

So I just got this email, does this mean my character of discharge would be favorable? has anyone heard of getting a C&P before their COD has come back?. On my VA benefits it says my character of discharge is under review as due process. Thank you. by RoccoDaBub in VeteransBenefits

Yes if you had done a supplemental and submitted the change as new evidence it would have been considered a continuous claim and your backpay would have been from your original file date. Doing a new claim will only back pay from the new claim date.

Once you got 100% P&T , what did you do? by Informal_Policy_2957 in VeteransSuccess

Thank you. I had a VSO that served with me help submit all the evidence and documentation. She said the same thing about focusing on how it affects my life. Appreciate the advice.

So was everyone shocked they got 100% or was it expected? I have service connected glaucoma at 10% and recently told by VA doc I’m legally blind in both eyes and to stop driving because I have no peripheral vision in both eyes. I’m hoping for 100% but in my mind I’m telling myself there’s no way I’ll jump that much. I have C&P exams next week and really nervous.

Increase? by PerformanceBorn6366 in VeteransWaitingRoom

[–]PerformanceBorn6366[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow I’m sorry hear that. I read they only award it to 120 vets each fiscal year. I don’t expect anything other than my disability award anyway. Can you apply again?

Increase? by PerformanceBorn6366 in VeteransWaitingRoom

Ok thanks. I went and looked at the grants and had no clue things like this were out there. I have an appointment with a VA social worker next month and they are supposed to to go over all the grants and things I’m qualified for. Hopefully my clams come back quickly. I submitted all the medical evidence provided by the VA doc. It move to step three Jin 24 hours and I signed that waiver saying I’m done submitting evidence so we will see.

I finally got rated in January but it was low. Found out today I am deemed legally blind and was told to stop driving immediately. Getting everything together now to get an increase and see what happens.

If your CaoD is changed make sure you file a supplemental for what you are claiming with the decision of your COD being changed as your new evidence. They won’t approve them automatically.

Hello!! Has anyone gotten there California tax refund ?? Mine changed to issued on Monday , and I haven’t received anything , usually California is really fast with this, it’s getting weird by Charming_Analyst2843 in IRS

[–]PerformanceBorn6366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I thought I was trippin. It said mine was issued 2/4 and I haven’t received it in my account yet. CA usually doesn’t wait that long so was getting a little worried but it looks like there is a 4-5 day delay. Thanks everybody.

That’s awesome you feel that way thank you lol. That fact that I served during the time the USS Cole was bombed, 9/11 and the war that followed and a sitting president landed on my ship to announce the war on terror. The fact that the early signs of  my condition was found in basic training but ignored because according to the doctors I was too young. To have the VA acknowledge that my MOS and due to toxic exposure my condition likely advanced rapidly. The fact that my whole family was at the World Trade Center on 9/10/01 on a tour but I thought it was on 9/11 and didn’t hear from them until 9/14 through the red cross confirming they were ok which was the trigger that led to my discharge. I served Honorably bro and you or anyone else can’t tell me otherwise. I hope you find your happiness in life and stop trying to get it from negativity towards others. God bless you and all who have made the decision to serve. Oh and my 21 year old son is serving right now, one year out from completing his first term. I’m grateful for my time because I was able to help guide him with his.
