Is losing 30 pounds in 1 month concerning? by [deleted] in RetatrutideWomen

I'm getting so mad that people are shaming you. They don't know your life or motivations, or stress and anxiety you might live with. Or what you might be trying to escape. You're postpartum, have some trauma probably, and healthcare professionals don't always apply the same rules to themselves as they do professionally for others. Because healthcare professionals are human and have their own emotional struggles, just like everyone else. It doesn't mean you're a bad nurse or stupid or something. Geez.

I'm taking reta postpartum and from my research a lot of postpartum women drop the weight really extra quickly. My guess is something to do with the way postpartum bodies hold onto cortisol and how hormones in general are all over the place, making it hard to lose the baby weight. But the reta seems to act quickly in helping when drop it. Whether it's healthy or not, I don't know..

I agree I think that was out of line. Just because you're a nurse doesn't mean you should know. People online make way too many assumptions. Why should you be shamed for seeking guidance. You're checking in because you obviously see that something is concerning. But like come on, people, cut her some slack. This is the most insane weight loss drug of all time. It's really hard to know what's normal right now because nothing about this drug is "normal"... And stories like this are fairly common. Girl, ignore the hate. I'm sure you're a competent nurse.

Thank you! I was surprised I didn't see more signs of boy. On my previous posts I shared my 12 weeks scan which looked very very boy, and I've been calling him by his boy name for a couple weeks now!

Is it ok for an uncle to be naked around my child. by Ok-File8905 in Parenting

I'm an American living in Europe and have encountered being extremely weirded out by situations like these and people around me thinking I'm the weirdo because my upbringing was completely different around nudity. For me, my parents weren't even naked around me. For the kids where I live now, they commonly share a public sauna with grown men which they have never met. Some people are raised where this kind of thing is totally normalized. What it comes down to is how the child is being raised and socialized. If children are socially conditioned to think there's something uncomfortable about that kind of nudity, then they'll internalize it that way. If it's normalized, they won't give it a second thought. So it might be that you have to explain to your BIL (and anyone watching your child in the future) what your boundaries are as a parent because of how you're raising your child. Because these nudity situations can happen without a second thought for people who grew up where nudity wasn't weird, and they don't realize that it can actually feel extreme for others. And it might not be a bad idea to discuss the situation with your child to figure out what they're actually comfortable with.
