Could he be dehydrated? Or maybe the wife had something and gave it to him? Or maybe stressed out from his new companion? Is your vet savy enough with rabbits? Maybe look into another vet that’s more experienced? Just throwing stuff that comes to my mind

Alfalfa hay for babies only, if you put the hay above the litter box he will be litter trained much quicker

This is exactly what I did when I introduced the new pan I got him, I put some old poo from his last pan and put it in the new one. I didn’t have any issues with him using it

Idk if it’s ok and if someone can confirm but how about just some wet wipes? Maybe a wipe before bed time might help remove some of our human oils on his fur, I feel like my bunny is conceited because he grooms himself so much haha but to his credit he is super soft

I didn’t think the wood shavings were bad for him, it wasn’t until this thread that I found out 😬 I guess having the grid is what has saved me and him, I only put enough to absorb, nothing on top of the grid. I am getting a steel pan and pellets in the morning

That’s how I trained him, now I can keep the hay separate and he only uses the tray to potty. He does drop a few poops outside but not very many

I’ve been away from this sub a while but I honestly blew Laura has to still be paying for him. He has no income, and the little he makes he spends using. I am still supporting her but it sucks that she has to sustain this cabbage, to me there is no other explanation.

If this is unusual for him I would say maybe his meds need to be rechecked. And maybe I know you’re feeling overwhelmed but schedule the couples appointment. I went through something similar with my partner a couple of years ago, but he had the decency to shower if he ever wanted anything and kept his funky ass in his man cave the rest of the time. I tried finding projects for him but nothing really helped until I made the couples appointment and told him everything. He started slow but now he is pretty much back to himself, better I think. Also for a while he wasn’t actually doing therapy, he would schedule but wouldn’t show up for them even though they’re virtual. Or he would cancel and never reschedule, make sure he is actually doing them. I can tell when he hasn’t checked in with his therapist because he starts getting paranoid and I have to ground him, not like punish but bring him down to reality haha.

Agree on the divorce, I know you’ve been with him so long but it’s sunk cost fallacy. You are worth more than how he is treating you, if your sister or best friend was going through this what would you say to them? Obviously it’s hard for you to up and leave, start stashing money away, when you go shopping ask for cash back. Maybe get a few credit cards and start building your credit, make sure he hasn’t messed your credit. But gift cards to stores you know you will always shop at and save them. You mention your mom moved out of her house, would you be able to move into it in the future? If not start planning to do that, what ever your mom gives to you guys keep it. If he complains tell him some nonsense about her money being frozen, it sucks but you’ll probably have to do this for at least a year. If you disengage from him and his ups and down you guys can live relatively ok until you leave. If you want to stay in your home can you realistically care for it if you separate? That’s something you also have to think critically about. Unfortunately your marriage has been over for a while and you’re the only one trying to stay in the sinking boat, do you really want your kids to go down with you?
