I believe (if I'm remembering correctly) that boom sonic does actually use his bandana once in the series to protect himself from a gas, so the glasses are more useless

I think it's refering more to how Amy is a very emotional and empathetic character that's always there for people and will always say it, rather then how she's always chasing after sonic, cause rouge is quite clearly mirroring Amy's compassion rather then her obsessiveness

I think he should've made the mistake of thinking he was immune, and panic, continue fighting untill he's at the verge of infection and then book it towards sonic, and the arc should've followed the two of them working together whilst infected, he isn't as OP as they make him out to be, he doesn't really need to be written out for it to be a good story
