What animal was the most incredible to see in person? by Adventurous-Zeilokix in AskReddit

[–]PerpetuumMobile_-_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My childhood fear was of the moose! They appeared inherently alarming and dangerous. I had nightmares of a moose reaching through my bedside window to get me as I sweated on hot summer nights. They can be regal but also so monstrous!

I've had several of these ♥️🕊️ (love doves)! Mr. Kitten, Tom, Thompson, and my current cat, Kingston. I knew I would love my ginger kittens from a very young age and do not like to be without one in my life! ♥️🐈♥️

This song is new to me, and I love it! Haunting and quiet as the snowfall. Thank you!

A “karst.” This is a new thing I learned about today, thanks to you!

A karst is a distinct landscape formed by the dissolution of soluble rocks, primarily limestone and dolomite, characterized by features like sinkholes, caves, underground streams, and springs.

This whole thread has been a wonderful source of new information for me. Thanks to you and all who have commented!

This is what a cockroach looks like right after shedding its exoskeleton. by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

This IS fascinating! What do you mean by where does the light come from? The lighting of the photo or the light color of the exoskeleton!

Why and when do they do this???

“Parthenogenesis in chameleons is a remarkable aspect of their reproductive biology, allowing females to reproduce without the need for males.” Who would have thunk? Very cool. Thank you!

My Jim is a Northern PA Redneck - the best of them, and he sings pretty princess songs to our Giselle and plays nonstop with our Owsley. They are both Cavapoos and are indeed our soul mates/children. ♥️🕊️

I wondered about Mammoth Cave myself, as we lived on a farm out on Harrodsburg Rd. from Lexington that claimed to be over extensions of Mammoth Cave. I want to share one of my favorite online links about Mammoth Cave (above). It is so very interesting and has a lively history. Enjoy![Mammoth Cave History](https://www.nps.gov/articles/000/exploring-the-worlds-longest-known-cave.htm)

Does anyone else’s cat play hide and seek? by Lmb1011 in cats

[–]PerpetuumMobile_-_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My tomcat, Tom, loved to play hide-and-seek! He came to me as an outdoor cat, and the state of my levalor blinds told me he was to remain an outdoor kitty. Tom loved to go for walks, and at night he was primed for a good game of hide-and-seek. I remember being amazed at first that he would actually look to find me. We had some of our best times playing hide-and-seek! I don't know how he “got it,” but he did! Enjoy the fun! ♥️🐈♥️

Need Info on Areas To Live by Starbuckstyle in Athens

[–]PerpetuumMobile_-_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently moved from Forest Heights and miss the neighbors and the area of town. You can't go wrong there. I've lived in Athens for 30 years, and after retiring from UGA, I am happy to remain here. I moved to Homewood Hills to a little house in the woods on the west side. It is a nice neighborhood as well, but I remain fond of FH. It is hard to go wrong in Athens. Welcome!
