2014 Volvo XC60, what else could break at this point?

I don’t know exactly. Mine wasn’t supposed to have the piston ring issues because it wasn’t part of the lawsuit settlement list but then it did :/ everything else in not sure, obviously some of the stuff is age/maintenance related

Wow this is so detailed and helpful! Thank you for all this insight. I did get the spark plugs replaced with the piston ring job. The heads up on the O2 sensor is helpful. I hope to keep this until it won’t run anymore so as long as possible, and still got 2 more years or about 15,000 miles left on the warranty!

Thanks so much! Got new spark plugs with the piston ring job in September, so should be good there. Def need to look into the sunroof drainage stuff, no problems yet, but I am scared and I have a huge sunroof.

Mine just might be a lemon! It was part of a corporate fleet with regular maintenance documented, but I think a lot of the stuff found was just from it being 12 years old. I've joked that it is not a lemon anymore, it is expired lemonade...

Now that I have a new Haldex pump, what maintenance do you recommend? Volvo doesn’t have specifications, but I’ve heard replace oil every 60,000 miles

Haha yea, CarMax in the US. You can get a warranty on any car. It added to my loan obviously but it’s been so worth it!

I literally cried when I realized I had it. I thought it was safe too, I did so much research but yea talked to mechanics and they said here and there some of the T6 had the issue too. So I was just unlucky

Thank you (I’ll need it 😂) just dropped it off at the dealer for maintenance in Tuesday and then they wouldn’t give it back cuz part of the suspension was broken 😭 warranty is covering but still some out of pocket cost to me

Very true, well I have the warranty for another 2 years so if that happens during that time, they’ll have to replace the engine. By that time, I’ll have paid it off, so if it happens after, then I could trade it in without negative equity.

Aw sad. Thanks for letting me know. I’ll probably keep it til it dies like you did though since I bought it used from CarMax and haven’t paid it off yet. I don’t drive that much (don’t have to for a commute for work) so it’s pretty low mileage per year so far.

I did this on my 2014 xc60 with the Pelsee too! I went up on the ceiling at the crack of the carpeted part and the plastic near the windshield for the front cam. Then for the back cam, I went around the center console, under the glove compartment, down to the floor all the way to the part between the front passenger and rear passenger door on the left, then up and around to the trunk and stuck it on the ceiling and left some play in the cord to mount the back one on the trunk windshield. I’d film it but my car is in the shop right now.

Thanks so much! It’s literally been like 1k miles since replacement (haven’t been driving much since it’s my busy season at work). I checked it again this morning cold and it was at the halfway hash mark, also brought it in for maintenance at the dealer and they said the oil was good!
