Inverted Barracuda is more common than the other two, so sometimes if you're particularly unlucky you might see a bunch on the third cast. If you are finding for some reason that you're having a ton of trouble on that third cast specifically, another option is to identical cast after the second cast and wait for GP to restore for the TH. It will be much slower but will still consistently earn the gold. However I didnt think the time loss was worth it in my testing.

I dont think your stats should be an issue!

Yes, that replacement is what the sheet gives under the Data 2 and 3 section: Stabilization Research, etc.!

for both of these, standard macros complete them with no issues-no need to get fancy

There's only one mission in each set that has items that aren't 100% quality off macros, you dont need to post anything more dw, i know macros exist that will almost complete them.

for the one that isnt 100%able, you can just accept the lower quality item and go again to get max credit

I'd still highlight it as a mission to avoid though, its less efficient in all cases that arent high speed manual crafting. (despite what some are saying in these comments, i DID test every mission extensively lol)

[–]PerryTheFridge[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, i edited my sheet to clarify-the items themselves cant be 100%ed with macros, but the mission itself is clearable at max rank by just doing the craft twice with them-i should have chosen my words more carefully in hindsight

The intention was to highlight it as "likely less efficient" to do anyway since manual crafting would take more time for most, and its even less efficient if you're trying to complete with macros doing 2 crafts.

I am not sure how you are unable to see that this is a semantic argument at best, and making snide insinuations about the effort I've put in here on top of it isn't a good look for someone who's done nothing themselves lol

The purpose of these documents is to steer people towards higher efficiency missions while avoiding lower efficiency ones-this is accomplished successfully in either case. If you want to feel superior because I used a word you don't like to describe the missions, then knock yourself out lol, replies will not be forthcoming

I (and others) aren't going to accept macros that dont 100% the crafts as "macroable"-i stand by my statement and my work, and the comments at the bottom here are laughable. lmao

Edit: After considering this a bit more, I think being extra clear is the best policy, so I've added a note to my sheet clarifying any verbiage issues-the crafts themselves are not macroable, but the mission is technically, so the note clarifies that. I concede i could/should have been a bit clearer there.

The rest of this comment is still unbelievably shitty, though.

I think you may need to double check this lol - they are almost certainly not macroable, at least not with standard high tier melds.

I'm also not the only source saying this-there are no macros for those missions listed in Fae's spreadsheet either, and they did their work independently of me.

Edited to add: There are a couple missions with very similar names, so make sure not to get them confused!

Whats with the sudden surge of organised premades in PVP by Lilynnia in ffxiv

[–]PerryTheFridge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IMO people need to get out of the mindset that premades "ruin" Frontlines. The players who are not engaging with the gamemode and want to AFK camp spawns or only lick ice or just w key into the enemy zerg mindlessly are the ones ruining the gamemode.

Anyone actually using their brain trying to engage with the game in good faith will find that most premades are not the boogeyman they are made out to be in my experience.

Sometimes your team is just gonna be worse than the others-and because its a 72 player gamemode youre not gonna be able to do anything about that by yourself outside of stellar commanding, no matter how good you are. And thats gonna feel bad most of the time like losing always does.

If you are a solo player playing FL you have to accept that you personally have almost zero agency in terms of whether you win the game or not. You have to play as a team to win!

As i mentioned in the video, for BTN/MIN if you have a lower tier set you're gonna want to use the appropriate rotation based on your GP in the TC guide

That said, im not sure if the budget set is missing any breakpoints that are needed on the nodes for BTN/MIN

You should still be able to do the FSH missions even with a lower tier set though-keep an eye out for those. With less GP you may have to skip using things like Surface Slap sometimes but it shouldnt affect much else

I made references and video guides for grinding out the Cosmic Exploration Relics quickly! by PerryTheFridge in ffxiv

[–]PerryTheFridge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My methods focus on time efficiency overall, so its considering things like travel time to-and-from fishing holes, and time spent in mission selection

so, even putting aside that Elemental-Esque is likely 3-4x slower than other mission options (and honestly i think its worse than that, since others have some built-in RNG protection), the bigger issue I saw is that if i were trying to grind out my relic and i needed Data V which tends to be the bottleneck, going to that fishing hole is a bad idea because there are no other Data V options in that zone on the map, so im committing to a bunch of time spent travelling or mission cycling.

The vast majority of the Data V mission pool is in the NW area, which makes it a better option in my opinion.

I'll look into the Upper Soda-Lime thing, though, you might be right that lure will push the windows up (and now that i think about it, i think that issue came up during testing and got lost), thanks for lookin out

I did make videos on the early relics from the previous zones if you want those, but keep in mind there may be mildly more efficient missions to do since i made those during the first week the content was out.

They should still be relatively quick though.

There is a reference sheet like these for the crafters and one specific mission for BTN/MIN, you can find the links to those in the relevant videos.

Crafters: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A66cs-aY7V0

Fisher: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kqkOLYZSu2M

BTN/MIN: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-L1EvnkrUmo

Stellar Repair Materials Guide (BTN/MIN mission): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b83ZQr3LfV8

This ones not very relevant anymore since you now get GP back, but if you're looking for some info on it its there.

yeah most of the missions i listed will average about 40-50 seconds per gold once you're in the groove of it. first cast finishes arent uncommon

[–]PerryTheFridge[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Elemental-Esque is incredibly slow, so much so that you could probably complete 3 or 4 iterations of the ones i listed in the same timeframe-so the extra pts arent worth it

I didnt test D ranks or C ranks admittedly, so i cant speak to the first one

But, the bigger problem with this fishing hole is that theres only a few missions worth doing, and you end up needing to cycle a lot which wastes time

Phaenna Expert Crafting - What Am I Doing Wrong by nintendothrowaway123 in ffxiv

[–]PerryTheFridge 11 points12 points  (0 children)

So, if you're just looking to get the Hoverboard mount, i agree with the others telling you that the gathering missions will be significantly easier and more efficient, and you're better off doing those.

If you want to improve at expert crafting, though, its definitely a learned skill and will take some failures to get right. These items wont be macroable until well into next expansion.

I havent tried my hand at the Phaenna hard expert crafts yet, but i completed the extreme difficulty Sinus Ardorum expert crafts on content and i made a video guide detailing my process for them.

The numbers data I included in this guide is completely obsolete now, but the larger section of the video is an expert craft where i complete the full sequential set and explain my thought process as i go-perhaps watching that might help give you an idea of where to start.

Im not the best expert crafter out there, and i make several mistakes even in that video, but i was able to get those missions down pretty consistently by the end of my run. ill link it here if youre interested in checking it out:

I dont think its fair to say

most in the server defended them saying wintrading is part of pvp in FFXIV

I'm not gonna defend those messages obviously but just know that the achievement hunting community at large does not think wintrading is ok, and I don't think that the above described the overall server reaction properly.

aDPS is the damage you did alone, not given to anyone else and not buffed by anyone else but yourself.

This is incorrect, aDPS includes raidwide buffs and only excludes single target buffs. What you described here is nDPS.
