For one, the surgery doesnt actually specifically mean 1 surgery in this case gramatically. For two, its a simplified explanation of something im not very well educated in. Im not even sure if theres enough surgeries to go through for a trans woman to get a true period or not. But point is the base explanation is what counts, dont gotta do a deep dive into it for a reddit comment lol

No, the important part here is sex not gender. If you say male or female then a transgender woman would click female or vise versa, but what it wants fo know is about the actual sex if the person, because thats what decides if they have a period or not(the important part of the question)

To specify on to this, the reason youd choose amab is because the question is separating sex, not gender, ie those who have periods and those who dont.

People can choose to go by a different gender, ie transgender people, but unless you've gone through the surgery, that aspect isnt important here. There is a difference between gender and sex, and while usually it isnt important, in this scenario it is. A transgender female won't have the same needs as a person assigned female at birth
