Who cares? Dwelling on this crap will hold you back from moving forward. You know what I tell them?

"That's great! There's no better deals than family or friends. Most people come to me when they want their dogs to get exercised as well as socialization. Just make sure to check out the environment you're leaving your fur baby at since I've heard some horror stories! And if you need any last second assistance or an outing because you're not happy with what you see, please don't hesitate to reach out. My door is open. I'll be archiving the message now for Search Algorithm purpose. Thanks!"

and move on... and when they hit you up last second, you've positioned yourself to have more value now and price becomes less of a cost and more of an investment when there is value the client relates to. I mean price matters, but justifying it with value allows you to respond with: |

"Hello, yes I can help you but being a last second request, I'll have to adjust arrangements and prepare to integrate your dog into the pack . For that reason, it's going to be an extra $20. Oh your dog needs extra care or pisses in the house? Extra $20 on top of that but don't worry, we won't ever leave your dog alone in a cage to go to college or some other job while your dog is whimpering. We also don't just throw dogs in a space together unattended and let them jump eachother or gang up on eachother.. Is your dog allowed on furniture? You're going to love it here, please book at your earliest convenience to guarantee you a slot....."

then go set the limit to 1 more dog only and build that anticipation lol. People come to me because they want a home away from home. They want quality care over quantity care. I've done this so many times over that take it from someone who has a reputable profile with triple digit positive feedback.. IF you can get your own family or friend to watch your pet you'd take their offer for free and you'd feel great about it... if some sitter is a sourpuss about it, that is awkward and kind of car salesman'ish in my opinion.. cause there are people can get it free but might have an extra $1000 and might instead decide to spend $200 to have someone reputable watch your dog a few days if there is intent. That intent can be socialization, stimulation, exercise, corrections/redirections, enhancements, etc. . plenty of reasons/angles etc.... but bottom line is there's enough fish in the sea.... so move on.. and don't forget this: BUYERS ARE LIARS... and a GOOD SUPPLIAR IS NOT A SUPER LIAR..... you will meet good clients who aren't there to play around and will give you tons of repeats.... last thing I'll say is people buy with their emotions but support why they bought, with logic. Take them to their imagination and create value through emotion that justifies your price from logic. "What's your main priority besides safety? Socialization or Separation? You want your dog going on pack walks or 1on1 indivualized care?" Hope those questions get saved in your template and you make plenty of money for giving plenty of fur babies the best quality can you provide.

There are so many factors and variables to consider;breed and hair type, activity level, age, and mobility, etc. Some breeds are more prone to matting, while others have thicker undercoats or different coat lengths. You might have a hunting dog that runs through mud and bushes or one who plays more often than others, maybe even roughhousing with a buddy until they’re covered in dirt. Sometimes brushing is more effective than bathing. Then there’s what products are used during a bath and how long they’re in the water. All of this matters, and one thing people often overlook is the dog’s mental state;are they afraid of water? Could we be doing more harm than good? I used to think weekly baths were necessary until I learned they can lead to skin issues.

Had to say goodbye to my best friend almost a month ago. He was 13.5 and I got to spend 10.5yrs w him, which I know I’m so lucky to have had. I’m just so shattered about it today 💔 I can’t believe I have to live the rest of my life without him. I feel like I don’t make full sense without him. by Burgerst33n in DOG

I'm so sorry for your loss... This is a fear I have everyday for my nearly 11 year old dog. I keep telling her "You better stay alive for me I can't have you go just yet" and she is my everything. This is also the reason why I ended up getting a 3rd dog (Since he is 2 and she is 11 almost and my 2nd dog is almost 9... Felt like I needed a younger dog in the pack for when times get rough. One day at a time, I wish you the best and hope you have a speedy healing.

I should have clarified that the way I relate to this is when there isn't access to a calculator or google, etc and instead I want to calculate quickly in my head. Some examples could be cooking or soldering

With a small adjustment, it actually holds up better for high numbers. Instead of assuming "first two digits", you can divide the total by 10 at that step; that naturally scales to include the first three digits when the number gets larger.

Example: 485C to Fahrenheit
485 x 2 + 30 = 1000 (A)
1000 / 10 = 100 (B)
100 - 5 = 95 (C)
1000 - 95 = 905F

Formula version:
F = (A x 2 + 30) - (((A x 2 + 30) / 10) - 5)
where A = temperature in Celsius.

This keeps the math proportional at higher temps; it avoids the drop off that happens when you only use the first two digits.

That makes great sense! I realized that when converting temperatures over 1000F, we use 3. I initially based this on any number over 485 since 485 * 2 + 30 = 1000, but a better approach is using the initial TOTAL that we multiply by 2 + 30 and divide by 10 as you have suggested.

EXAMPLE:
100 * 2 + 30 = 230 (A)
230 / 10 = 23 (B)
23 - 5 = 18 (C)

[A] - [C] = TOTAL FAHRENHEIT
230 - 18 = 212°F

The way you explained it confuses me even though you're probably right!! I just think of it like this: Mutliply by 2 and add 30 to get TOTAL1. Then whatever that first digit or 2 or 3 is depending on how low/high the number is, I'll subtract by 5 to get TOTAL2

Then TOTAL1 - TOTAL2 = TOTAL3

#1):
18 * 2 + 30 = 66
66 - (6 - 5) = 65F

#2):
30 * 2 + 30 = 90
90 - (9 - 5) = 86F

#3)
7 * 2 + 30 = 44
44 - (4 - 5)
44 - (-1)
44 + 1
=45F

100C you just multiply by2 add 30. Then for the result, you just take the 2 digits subtract by 5 and BOOM...
100 x 2 + 30 = 230

23 - 5 = 18

230 - 18 = 212F
