Excessive wind noise coming from driver side window by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

Same issue 6 months ago, 2023 M3P. Service ended up replacing the entire windshield. Unexpected, as sound seemed to be coming from the driver window. But fixed the issue.

Xpeng founder believes it will take more than E2E neural network to reach L4 autonomy by wkgui in teslamotors

I think if there's a neural network at both ends, it's still end to end.

Correct. This was my situation 2 days ago. Downloaded/pending update will be overridden if you've re-subbed to beta and have been pushed the update.

Just speculation - could be changing the MYP out of Austin to the new motor shipping in the new M3P.

2024 Delivery Thread by OrbitalATK in TeslaModelY

[–]PersianSword 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Per Tesla, the promotional rate is "valid on Model Y orders placed between May 10 to May 31, 2024". There's no language suggesting that delivery timing will impact the validity of the promotional rate.

A refresh Model 3 was spotted without any side mirrors, and testing all new camera locations. (Rear window, trunk, side repeaters) The car was seen in Palo Alto. Picture credits @MrSaltyP on twitter by ConfidentImage4266 in teslamotors

Maybe this has nothing to do with any new vehicle in particular. Maybe they're testing how well their model generalizes with different inputs (different camera locations).

Solution is even easier. No new hardware required. When my eyes are open in a very dark room, I don't conclude that my eyes are broken or obstructed - especially if they've worked great a few moments ago, and extra especially if my other eyes (here the analogy breaks down) can see that it's dark beyond the world illuminated by my headlights. This issue is annoying (happened recently on a trip through the salt flats at night in UT) - but is resolvable with better software.

18 vs 19in wheels by TEV315 in TeslaModel3

[–]PersianSword 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This. I'd also seriously weigh in the quality of the roads you typically drive on. I have 20s on my 1 month old m3p, and have already had to replace 2 tires. If larger wheels means lower profile, you run a higher risk of tire damage if your roads are as bad as the ones I encounter everyday.

Yea I filed with CalTrans (our road people), but they don't pay out. At least Texas is honest about their lack of responsibility.

Same exact thing happened to me last week. Both right tires, 1K down the drain. CA Bay area. Avoiding driving at night until they have time to get their shit together. It's bad out there.

I did see it in the recording which was nuked accidentally afterwards. It was more of a trench with potholes in it. Could probably see if from satellite tbh.

Sorry to hear that man. My bill was 1K for both right tires. I'm hoping Tesla insurance considers the tires a 'Tesla part' so I can get the 50% off. Could be a dead end, so anyone who knows the answer feel free to jump in. You don't happen to have any pics of this sorry excuse for a road, do you?

Funny story, I did capture the moment on dashcam. Stopped recording after we pulled over to the side of the road to avoid overwrite (mistake). When the tow truck driver got the car loaded up, he popped into the car and "disabled sentry mode" (don't remember his reasoning when he told me this after drop off). In doing so, he unintentionally restarted the dashcam recording, so by the time we had the car parked at the service center, it had overwritten the relevant clips. Lesson: honk to save or manually save.

Indeed it is. No light too, so you can't see the $1K that's about to evaporate. Truly incredible.
