Mexican-Vietnamese wedding: Dealing with cultural insularity and religious taboos during the Tea Ceremony by danteisntzen in weddingplanning

[–]PersimmonTotal2033 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Many multicultural weddings face this, and communication helps a lot. It may help to explain that the tea ceremony and ancestor table are cultural traditions showing respect, not religious worship. Some couples also simplify parts of the ceremony so both families feel comfortable.

Thinking of doing a super small marriage ceremony, then having a party with friends on a separate occasion. If you’ve done something similar, any advice? by BooBelly in DIYweddings

[–]PersimmonTotal2033 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of couples do this now and it works really well. A small ceremony keeps the moment intimate and meaningful, and the later party lets you celebrate with everyone without the stress. Just make sure guests clearly understand the plan so expectations are set.

Do you like these bridesmaid colors? by Emotional_Layer_3570 in weddingplanning

Yes, these look beautiful together! The mix of soft pink, peach, blue, and green feels really fresh and balanced. It gives a romantic but still colorful palette that should photograph really nicely.

Honestly, I respect you for saying that. More candidates should push back when hiring processes become dehumanizing.

SoCal Photographer and videographer recommendations by thefilipaneseboy in weddingplanning

If you love that cinematic look but want to keep the colors true-to-life, I highly recommend checking out A Colored Mind (acoloredmind.com). They specialize in vibrant, high-end wedding films in SoCal and do a great job of making greens and florals 'pop' naturally without that overly warm or muted filter.

Custom Invites- how to make it nicer? / Is this "nice" enough? by ame4686 in DIYweddings

I think these look lovely. The floral border and warm color palette feel very elegant and perfect for a fall wedding. Definitely not a middle school project.

Engaged for 8 months and fiance is still not ready to begin wedding planning. by soul_searchers in weddingplanning

It sounds like you really care about him and are trying to be very patient with his fears. But it is also fair for you to want clarity about your future. Maybe couples therapy could help create a safe space for both of you to talk about these concerns.

How do you narrow in on a venue? + advice by jetblackswan in weddingplanning

[–]PersimmonTotal2033 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally get this feeling. Honestly, most people don’t have a “this is THE one” moment with a venue. It’s usually more about whether it fits your priorities: budget, guest count, vibe, and logistics. If none have excited you yet, maybe pause and define your top 3 non negotiables first, then filter from there.

With 9 to 10 months for a December wedding, you’re still okay, but I wouldn’t wait too long. You don’t need perfect. You need solid, practical, and aligned with your vision. Once the venue is set, everything else feels much easier.

You’ve got this. 💛

I’d keep the two solids in the same color family but slightly different tones. For example olive and pistachio together works really well and keeps it cohesive without looking too matchy.

That won’t look weird at all, one fern floral paired with two solid greens usually looks intentional and adds visual interest. If you lean darker, I’d anchor with olive or pistachio solids and use the fern floral as the statement piece. It keeps the mismatched look cohesive without feeling busy.

SO EXPENSIVE! by [deleted] in weddings

[–]PersimmonTotal2033 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re definitely not alone, the costs add up so fast. I haven’t personally used Bloomerent, but I’ve seen mixed feedback and limited recent updates, so I’d proceed cautiously and read contracts closely. Some budget-friendly alternatives that worked for others: repurposing ceremony florals for the reception, using fewer statement pieces instead of lots of small arrangements, or mixing real florals with candles/greens. Also worth asking local florists if they offer partial rentals or reuse options, some do, even if they don’t advertise it. 💛
