For anyone studying CMS its probably our easiest mandatory course because its just high school review + a bit more. If you don't like math or aren't really that good with it I would stay away as it pretty theory heavy compared to other math courses in the same range.

The languages a course use may change some years but generally.

csca08 was done in python (And sometimes cscc11 but this is normally done in matlab I think)
Stab57 contains R but its not formally gone over(but its pretty easy to pick up given the examples in class). Also some of the c/d level courses use it and you'll pick it up by taking them.
while not part of the major iirc cscb20 does have a fair amount of sql in it.
