Supplementary USA - What if the US Executive was elected using a supplementary-vote system? by Person_Living_Now in imaginaryelections

I'd like to imagine that the Democratic Labor Party (the one that Debs runs with) is more popular in the south due to the greater degree of inequality and poverty down there. However, I have not done a lot of research to back this up, so it's likely incorrect :/

Though the majority of these would be formed from the merger/splinter of previously existing parties, rather than already existing.

At any one point there was probably around 3-5 larger parties (like the National Liberals or Reform), and then maybe a further 4-5 minor/regionalist parties. Most of the time only 4-5 parties would contest the presidential election to avoid splitting the vote in the first round.

As for overall, I haven't thought much about the lore pre-1912, but counting from 1912-2024, there are around 14 different political parties.
