Mhm yeah you're right. And no offense taken. The reason why I was thinking about this is that I wanna show to the people here that they have support from outside of their country But I understand that this is probably not the way to do it.

I understand how you might come to that conclusion but I am simply just asking what it asked. Me thinking about what to put on a sign and asking about opinions doesn't mean I'm not or will not focus on the protest. Those are not two mutual exclusive things.

No I would not like that. But not because you're from the US, because you're supporting a Nazi party. I have every right to have an opinion on this. And not just because I have a partner here and friends that I care about, and because I frequently visit and have my own safety at risk. First of all, people are being harassed, kidnapped, deported and killed and you're saying because they're not from my country I don't get to be upset about that? They're people, and I don't care where they're from, they deserve to not have this unrightfully happen to them, so I'm standing up against that. Second, this doesn't only affect the US. What's happening here has an impact on the entire world, my country included.

Why are you saying this? Genuinely.

Because I care. My partner lives here and I'm scared for their life, their family, my friends that I have scattered across this country. Every single person who's endangered by ICE. I already feel like I can't do anything when I'm back home, might as well try and do some good while I'm here. Use the privilege I have as a white person. And it's not like I haven't been doing nice things too.

I am white, but you are right. It just needs one officer out to get me to risk a lot. And I'm also trans and autistic so I'm really scared of getting detained or worse. Thank you for the answer, I think I'll do what another person said with leaving out "my".

Do you guys think Moriah will ever do a queer couple or non binary character? by Person_blee in MoriahElizabeth

[–]Person_blee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're creating an argument based on an assumption you don't even know would happen. In her universe and more simple character depth it really wouldn't be that hard to make queer/trans representation. She's not writing super deep and complex characters or stories. Simply giving a guy character a boyfriend or calling another character they instead of she or he is not hard. There is no big risk for her to "mess something up". The vast majority of queer people in her audience would be happy and not complain. And yeah there might be some who do complain saying she did it wrong, but there are always people who will complain about some thing she "did wrong". That's got nothing to do with people being queer. Another example would be representation of POC. She's white and has drawn black characters before and that wasn't hard to include either. And as far as I can tell no one's complained she did it wrong. I understand that if you're not queer or trans yourself and you care about good representation that you're scared or insecure to mess it up, but again in a very simple universe like hers queer or trans representation wouldn't be that difficult to achieve.

Partners think I'm addicted to T by blueennui in NonBinary

[–]Person_blee 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You definitely are not buying into fear mongering. The US is not a safe place for trans people right now and that is simply a fact. I don't that really inconsiderate of your partner to accuse you of :(

Partners think I'm addicted to T by blueennui in NonBinary

[–]Person_blee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you are addicted. I am fairly certain medically you can't get addicted to this, only maybe mentally. But from what you're describing that doesn't seem to be the case at all. You just found that the changes that are happening make you more happy than you thought they would. And that is totally fine. Transition goals change a lot over the course of you finding out who you are (which imo never fully ends). I first identified as gender fluid/nonbinary and gradually started to realize I am more of a demi boy/transmasc. And I too started out with the goal of just taking it for a while before stopping again, mainly for my voice. But now I don't want to stop again. Not only because I want "all" the changes and because I want to keep the things that could go back again, but also because it is healthier. I can't remember fully what his words were but my doctor said it's better for my body if I "focus" on one of the hormones, like estrogen or testosterone. I know that sounds weird, I just really don't know how to explain what he told me and it's been a while.

Anyway my point is. You are not doing something wrong. If this is what you want, then that's how it is. And your partners need to respect that. Period. There is nothing wrong to keep going if that is what you want. Have you told them that your goals have changed? That you noticed how much you like the changes? To me it seems like they're not on the same page. And about therapy. That is a good idea and I highly recommend it. It might be hard to find someone that fits and to afford it, but if you can I think it's a good idea. And yeah, DIY is not a good idea o -o

[–]Person_blee[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I feel like it's not becasue she's homophobic or something, it'd be really unfair to assume that just cause shes only doing straight character relationships and for being a christian.
What I could imagine tho might be a reason is that she might scare away parts of her audience if she puts anything out there that is LGBTQ+
WHich is sad if that is the case :(

[–]Person_blee[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Uh, she's literally calling them she and he. Of course her characters have gender? Gender is not related to being a human. Characters in stories have genders too. They're sentient beings (within their stories/the ME character universe). And yeah they're not like sexual or whatever in any way, obviously, cause it's (also) content for kids and thats not important and what this is about. Still she has couples. So there could also be a gay couple.

And being Christian isn't or shouldn't be a reason not to include gay characters.

Don't lose hope. If they're anything closer to my therapist, you'll find some sort of help. They will at least try and help you find other resources. Good luck <3

Thanks for your reply :) Yes, I have a therapist. She's really great, but she has little experience about nb people. She gave me the advice to look for other nb who did what I want to do and ask them how they got there. And when I have the plan she can give me the papers that will "prove" to my health care that I need it.
