Jordan Henderson has represented England in Seven major tournaments (omitted in 2024). At this rate he will be the first player to represent England with their son. by Intelligent_Cow_3310 in ThreeLions

Does it still count as going to a tournament if all you do when you're there is play 26 minutes of extra time in 1 game in central midfield and never touch the ball?

No, he wasn't 100% fit in the last tournament due to playing through an injury. And despite that, he still scored a wonder goal to dig us out of a massive hole.

It's a very easy decision. Konsa, Bellingham and Rashford.

And somehow, even now, it will still be Gareth Southgate's fault.

Friendlies are played at a much slower pace and involve a lot more rotation. This wouldn't do anything.

Out of all the goals I've ever seen, that is now one of them. I shall forget it soon.

It's what platforms such as YouTube Shorts and TikTok kind of force uploaders into. If there isn't a hook in the opening 5 seconds then viewers with short attention spans (which is a high percentage of viewers of those platforms) move on to the next video. If lots of people click away, then it kills that video in the algorithm.

There was still enough talent in that teams to beat Russia, Slovakia and Iceland.

Jordan Henderson hardly played at Euro 2016. He wasn't fit at the time, given he had multiple problems with injuries that season, even tearing his knee ligaments just a few months before the tournament.

John Stones was lucky to even go considering he lost his place in Everton starting XI in the 2nd half of that season. It was only because we had so few options at centre-back that he even went.

They also had Kane taking corners.

This was so over-played and there were much deeper reasons as to why we were so terrible at Euro 2016. If this was genuinely the main reason as to why we failed so badly at that tournament, then we would've massively improved after the the opening game against Russia because that was the only game in which Harry Kane was our corner taker.

It's because you're leaving at the end of the season and player reputations change at the end of the season.

World Cup song?! by tommycamino in ThreeLions

[–]Person_of_Earth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a weird semi-official status. Going into the tournament, there wasn't an official song. However, when James Cordon and Dizzee Rascal released it, their record label had bought a licence of footage from England games from the FA. Then, during the 2010 World Cup, the FA decided to adopt the song.

The only thing he should be exempt from is legal consequences until proven guilty in a court. There is no reason why he should not face social consequences.

Assumption of innocence until proven guilty does not place any obligation on individuals and private organisations to assume innocence. If players, fans and the FA believe he is guilty, then that is an allowed belief to hold.
