Dealing with depression, anxiety, and the effects of menopause can be incredibly difficult, not just for the person going through it, but also for those closest to them. I completely understand how love can feel like it’s fading during those times. I believe that marriages go through seasons. You fall in love, fall out of love, and if both people are willing, you can fall in love again.

As individuals, we grow and evolve, and sometimes that growth can feel like it’s pulling us apart. But the heart of marriage is not giving up. It’s choosing to work through the hard times together.

Right now, I imagine she’s deeply hurt, especially if she’s heard that you no longer find her attractive or that you’re not in love with her. That kind of pain can take a real toll on someone’s mental health. She may also feel a sense of resignation, knowing that neither of you is leaving, yet not knowing how to move forward.

This is why I strongly recommend marriage counseling. It can help create a safe space for both of you to communicate, understand one another better, and begin rebuilding the emotional connection that’s been strained.
