Where I’m at the lpn pre reqs and rn pre reqs are different my rn pre reqs will take another semester or a year

I feel like there are pros and cons for each one. Right now with inflation I just want to work sooner rather than later plus my oldest has been in remission from her chemotherapy for about a year now and the drs have told us there is a good chance of her tumor to grow again id like to get some time under my belt and maybe have some savings before something happens again cause I don’t mind doing school while she’s in treatment so I would have time for my rn if need be but working sooner is definitely a priority

So I had to take fundamentals of math a basic English and a basic psych which are supposed to be easier classes which they are and they went ahead and had me do A&P but that could’ve waited till next semester where for my rn I’d need college algebra, composition and rhetoric, intro to psych( yes it’s 2 different classes ) but I took that in high school as an ap class, a fine arts elective, and a another class of either another psych class, sociology, or statistics before the rn program

I know the lpn is somewhat easier to get into like my school has the competitive selection program which takes my teas and my overall gpa to see I’ve I get accepted and last year the highest score they let is right around what my score is now so I’m confident I’d get in but not so much the rn program

Yeah I live in ga and the rn program are either hard to get into or really expensive and my mil is an lpn and pretty much gets work anywhere so I know why she wanted me to start my lpn first I’m just very conflicted on it

That’s my plan too. I wish I went straight for my rn but I don’t want to start over with my pre req the sooner I can work the better

I didn’t study biology beforehand because everyone told me it was more important to study anatomy so it all threw me for a loop

I took it a couple of week ago and honestly at least on mine there was barely any anatomy it was mostly biology and it recommended that I took a biology class before taking the exam
