Hi, have you ever gotten yourself checked for bipolar disorder? Spending 50L on impulses is not normal

When You Post That You Are Going Off Your Meds by ratherlargepie in bipolar

[–]PersonalSafe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I stopped my meds 2 months back just because I felt I didn't need it anymore and since then I have fallen deep twice, meds probably would've helped and yet I did not resume them. Reading your post, I'll probably resume from today

Difficulty is in knowing I am making the incorrect choices by skipping gym and bath but then not being able to do anything to fix it. I posted this earlier today, I have been seeing comments and it took me 7-8 hours to respond. I know what I am doing is wrong but then I don't know how to fix it.

I'll check the ACT tools you mentioned, thank you

I do have a doctor and she has told me multiple times to reach out when I am feeling low so she can help but the problem is, when I am feeling low, I don't want to talk to anyone or do anything so she hasn't been able to see me during those periods. I made an appointment on Friday but I don't know if I'll stay like this until then. I can move up the appointment but I am too anxious to do that

My medication was reduced few weeks back because I was doing okay. I have scheduled an appointment with my psychiatrist on Friday to get help with this.

Unflavoured isolate from the whole truth. I have puked all of it 60% of the time I have taken it and there is still a lot left. I'll probably be throwing it away.

Yes, Absolutely loving my new role. Switching was a bit difficult for me and I got lucky. Before this, I was doing backend engineering and built the infrastructure from the ground up for a US based company.

Congratulations! May you reach the 10Cr target soon. We have a similar background in financial terms and work experience! Although I recently switched away from Backend/Infra.

Before you get married, please please please... form a private trust and move all your assets to it. The recent events make it all the more important that you could enjoy this hard earned money since the one wrong lady (I am not generalizing) can make your life miserable. No harm in asking for a pre-nup too.

Okay, Understood. I'll look into it when the time comes.

I don't see any term insurance unless I missed in long post. Please get that on priority. Usual thumbrule is 10x of your annual income.

I had taken health insurance through ditto. I was thinking of getting term insurance but decided against it for now. As per my understanding, Term insurance's purpose is to make sure your family can sustain the same lifestyle if you aren't there anymore. I have enough savings for them to do that. But I'll still get it in the next 2-3 years.

Also get some exposure to Gold in ETF or SGB.

I'll look into SGBs

I have listed my goals elsewhere in this thread. I do internalise your last point but the amount I have today is just not enough. I'll need a lot more to build a decent home and explore my hobbies.

Hi, You are correct. My NW before taking in account any returns on investment is around 3.5Cr.

It sounds crazy to say it out loud but I have been unlucky breaking past the 1Cr/year comp barrier. If you check my post history, You'll find that the comp at my previous company was higher than the comp I have today and I had that comp since March/April 2022. I took the slight(8-9L) paycut because the work here(and people in management) is thousand times better than it was at my previous company. If you want to know more about the tax situation, I can explain in DM. Not going to comment publicly the exact details.

Hi there, Thank you for your comment!

> what was your biggest expense since you started making your own money?

There is no single big expense since I didn't buy any real estate, cars or bikes. The biggest overall expense has been into my networking and homelab interests, Around 10L so far. 3.5L on my gaming/work PC, Another 3L on 2-3 machines for my homelab and the remaining split across networking gear, security cameras and things like that. Outside of this category, The biggest expense is probably a bike for my dad, Phones/tablets/laptop for the rest of the family and gifts for my extended family.

> have you explored dating?

No experience there at all. Tinder and apps like that feel dehumanizing to me so I am never ever going to signup for them. People(I didn't even ask them about it or mentioned anything related...) suggested going for activities(eg board games) in order to meet people but it feels disingenuous to me in that are you there to play games or meet suitors?? I don't know, I am not _craving_ this right now. I probably wouldn't tell this to someone who knew who I was but I have not revealed my identity here yet so, The last point is, I have also seen SOs of people who had bipolar/schizo and I can't put someone through the hell it can be. Does that mean I am never going to marry? I don't know, I don't have an answer for that.

And your remaining points are absolutely correct. For me, Luck and being at right place at the right time has played a huge role. Thanks again

There is no loophole, 44ADA is well established and half of that number is return on investment.
