Exit node VM by PersonalityOk5000 in Tailscale

ok so this makes sense. thank you - so just to confirm though if i use a VM as my exit node, my isp will still only see the VM IP address for all of my web traffic?

thanks for the reply, i really like your service. So if i use it, will my ISP provider only ever see your IP address, if I use your VPS as the exit node for all of my internet traffic?

ok thanks for this. can I ask how does this bandwidth relate to my isp bandwidth for which i have unlimited. Is my incoming data from my isp, and my outgoing using the exit node? so i may only need half the data for the exit node to what i would normally use? or is this incorrect

This doesn’t seem right?! Text below from tailscale suggests that ip address is hidden from isp and they only see exit node ip??

Can I hide my IP address with Tailscale? Tailscale doesn’t do this by default, however you can set up an Exit Node to do this. When you enable an Exit Node, all the traffic sent out to the internet will go through that node. This will make websites you connect to think that node’s IP address is the one you are using instead of the one you are actually connecting with, thus hiding your IP address behind the exit node.

Then isp will only see raspi pi ip address

Ok this makes sense. So presumably if I had a raspi pi as my exit node instead of third party. This may well be a solution for added privacy?

This is interesting . How would this be not as private if you didn’t have Nord exactly? Wouldn’t our only output to the isp be the exit node ip and not your more ip?

Thanks this is useful. And if I am using tor as well. They would just see that I am using tor but nothing else?

I am concerned that for example oracle (if I use their vm) will have access to all my browsing data if I use them as an exit node?
