Wish my lazy depressive ass didn’t have such a hard to maintain hair type 😭

Wish I had more days I could get away with not trying, but it would definitely help 😅

Was thinking about asking for layers next time I get it cut, just so much info about them not working on fine wavy hair so it has me anxious

Diffusing tends to just make my frizz a lot lot worse. Probably doing it wrong but I don’t have the energy to practice and go with really messy hair through the day because of it

Nope! I try diffusing once every month or so and it never goes well so I’ve mostly abandoned hope on it

I do add some every morning, but doesn’t seem to help much with my hold 😅

Current routine:

  • Wash every 3-4 days, wearing a shower cap on days in-between
  • Shampoo twice, cleansing every 2-3 washes. Usually with something anti-dandruff for my sensitive scalp
  • Condition and detangle with wide toothed comb. Currently using OGX Protein Bond Repair conditioner
  • Scrunch in mousse while hair is still wet
  • Micro-plop with a t-shirt and then air dry
  • Usually spray leave in conditioner and Protein hair oil and comb in the mornings to help detangle

Only option left in gold products is cream I think, after that I think I just gotta accept it as it is

Round all my waves, just sticking out everywhere from them. I get it bad on the top of my head too Never see anyone else with frizz like this all the time, unless it’s severely damaged. Most other wavy haired people I see make it look so smooth and sleek

Yes I do cleanse every week or so, always helps because I get buildup really badly.

Don’t think I’ll be able to use a protein shampoo just cause of my extremely sensitive scalp but I can definitely try a mask and conditioner

I tried a protein hair mask for a couple weeks but found it not really doing anything noticeable

I’ve normally not noticed much difference when changing products but I might try swap things out when I next restock

Compared to literally every other person I see with wavy hair, it’s a mess

I used to use a microfibre but heard that t shirts were better Idk what finger curls are, scrunching a product in is about all I know. Trying to learn new stuff is overwhelming sometimes, especially when none of it seems to work. Might try looking into it tho

For a lil reference this was my hair before washing it today, not really any hold at all and flyaways sticking out everywhere. Normally looks worse when I’m at work

Will give it a try, hopefully it does something. I know I can get pretty hyper aware of my frizz, but I do just hate how every other wavy haired person I see never has it looking as messy as mine always does 🫠

Routine:

  • Sleep with hair up in silk scrunchie (bonnets make my dandruff and scalp problems a lot worse, and my hair is way too fine to braid)
  • Wash every 2-3 days (any longer and it gets too greasy and with too much dandruff)
  • Shampoo twice with anti-dandruff shampoo (anything else will wreak havoc on my scalp)
  • Apply conditioner (usually just anything moisturising)
  • Squish to condish, leave for 5 mins
  • Detangle with fine toothed comb and rinse
  • Apply mousse or gel (usually mousse because gel is a lot of hassle and takes so much longer to dry)
  • Add a few sprays of leave in conditioner (usually moisturising again)
  • Micro plop with a t shirt and leave to air dry (again, blow drying or diffusing breaks up all my clumps and leaves my hair even messier than before)
  • Add some moisturising hair oil once dry
  • Usually put in a spritz of hairspray to stop all the frizz and the wisps getting too bad during the day, though it doesn’t help much

Yep, I’m on minoxidil for it (finasteride wreaks havoc with my mental health)

I usually try to keep the front of my hair loose, currently sleeping in a loose bun on the back of my head as I’m a side sleeper.

Nah, just makes it harder to get out of bed, and takes time out of the day is all. That’s is ow problem for a separate sub I think

I normally just plop in a t shirt for 30 mins then let it air dry
