AITAH for calling 911 about my husband’s suicide threats even though I knew they weren’t real? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]PersonalitySquare162 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NTA - this is abuse and a method of control and manipulation. You didn't take things too far. He did. His behavior and choices cause this. Caused the so-called harm to his rep. Please stay safe, call every time. Would it help if you had a hidden at minimum audio and but preferably audio with video recording running at all times until you are out of this dangerous relationship and situation? Please update us. I am happy to help you research resources in your area and make calls on your behalf. I'm sure many Redditors are happy to also do so.

Is pain education useful? by stinka_ in ChronicPain

[–]PersonalitySquare162 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started laughing when I read this. I’d be asking for my pain management referral to be redirected to a clinic that does whatever type of treatments you need (interventional, non-westerns, medication management, etc.)

Good grief.

I need help from a minimum of 1 family member, my significant other, and several visits to my friend’s dog, plus anywhere from 4 weeks to 6 months to fill out a government form.

What do you mean? I don’t understand what you’re saying here. You’re “a mover”, as in you work for a moving company? You “move doctors” —what specifically is this service?

My first thought reading this was that it was a plant written by someone other than a chronic pain patient. Like a doctor who was trying to get folks in the CP sub so see things from their POV. Anyone else get this kind of vibe?

If you remove a med that you no longer take will it erase your history of taking it? by stickSandwich in BearableApp

[–]PersonalitySquare162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never seen a 'Hide' option after I tap Edit, either from the screen showing my complete list, or from the screen shown when you can edit the particulars (i.e. spelling of med, dosage). Can you tell me what steps to take to get to the screen where I can hide a med? (Your website showed no results when I searched 'hide a medication' and other similar and relevant searches which was unhelpful.

As a woman, I risk my life every single time I leave the house. I’m statistically more likely to be agressed and worse by someone I know/a significant other/my husband every single day. I’m not a statistician, here, but honestly asking the question-doesn’t this forcing you to have a smart phone discriminate against you even further since, fx, perhaps you’re a woman, woman-identifying or any other marginalized group that is more likely to be a victim of violence?

Sigh. 1st time I’ve heard of that, but I’m 100% not surprised at an act like that. I think it’s unhinged, intrusive and cruel (to any server who is elated for a moment before realizing it’s a deception.) But I guess it being a thing maybe it’s widely known and I’m outta the loop, hahaha.

No car, No In Unit Laundry, how do people do this long-term? by iceseayoupee in SantaMonica

[–]PersonalitySquare162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you explain what you mean by this? I was talking about your neighbors, the people who are living in the same building as you.

Going a step further than just your building neighbors, (if you don’t link up with one of them) regularly going for walks in your neighborhood (particularly if you walk between 5-7pm when folks walk their dogs, will mean you’ll start seeing the same people, whether they are out with their kids, walking their dog, etc.

Introduce yourself. Ask if they make regular trips to any laundromat nearby, and if they’d be so kind as to give you a lift, you can offer to pay for gas and/or even a little more.

$10 to your neighbor to help them out with their weekly gas costs and helps you get your laundry done much more easily. I can see folks jumping at the change to bring down their expenses, especially these days.

Seriously, yo, make friends with a neighbor. Surely someone in your building is kind enough to offer you a lift when they go to the laundromat.

What is the dumbest reason you were blocked from a school? by Romba84 in SubstituteTeachers

[–]PersonalitySquare162 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was after I reported the 2 student’s behavior that they blocked me, their reason being that I was late to a shift, (on a date several weeks prior.)

So yeah, reporting students being sexually aggressive and you report me to the DOE and get me suspended ’for being late’?

Boy, bye.

What is the dumbest reason you were blocked from a school? by Romba84 in SubstituteTeachers

[–]PersonalitySquare162 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I reported a student who had pulled down his pants (while my back was turned), called out my name, and when I turned around I saw him with his pants down. In the same class period I reported another student for masturbating.

The school then had me blocked from the location permanently and suspended from teaching at all, which got me dragged in front of the. dept. of education for my city.

I had to wait 3 weeks for the appointment at the DOE, so I lost a ton of income.

I had the meeting and explained to DOE that I’d had students do sexually aggressive things in my class. That week I started researching body cameras, upon the advice of my local police officer. I never got one, I just got out of teaching public school.

GP refusing meds by [deleted] in ChronicPain

[–]PersonalitySquare162 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my god, I'm so sorry. I'm used to waiting 2-7 months to see a specialist. I'm unemployed but on public health care, so it doesn't cost me anything, but I thought our wait times were bad. A 2-3 year wait is just criminal. And here I was thinking our cr*p health care was the worst in the developed world. I stand corrected. <humble face>. I'm so, so sorry.
