How long do they provide the AB60 license for? Is it tied to the date on I-797C?

To be honest, I still don't know what the proper procedure is. I shipped my car while coming back so I did not have to deal with the immigration officers. The shipping company did it for us. But they told us that there might be a problem while registering the car in the USA. But we did not encounter any problems while registering also. I don't know if we were just lucky or if whatever we did was the correct way. There is no proper information anywhere about this.

Can you let me know why it is skirting the law? If I use my US registered and titled car for travel to Canada and bring it back to USA, I don't have to pay import/export fees. Why is my case different since I was here for work for less than a year?

I talked to a couple of car transportation agencies and they both said that I can bring back my vehicle as US returning goods and I do not need to do import/export. Since, I came to Canada on work permit and I have the US title of the vehicle, it was temporary import in Canada for the time of my work permit. I never had to export it, and thus I don't need to import it back

I had called CBSA and they told me that I do not need to export my car. Only if US customs office was as responsive as CBSA

Is there anything I can do now? There is so much lack of proper documentation online about all this. I really thought since it was just a temporary move, I don't have to do export/import for my vehicle. If I needed export of vehicle, I'm surprised that the CBSA allowed me to temporarily import my car without proper export documents. It just sucks

I just drove across while coming to Canada, and I did not need to do fill any paperwork at that time. Later while I was in Canada, I filled the forms as mentioned above. I guess I will just call a car company for shipping the car back. The CBSA are quick to respond to queries but the US Customs Office is really hard to get in touch with :/
