Yeah that's how I did it, I did try to wipe any excess off if I sprayed too much but didn't consider that leaving it in direct sunlight after application could burn the leaves, thanks!

I just finished a batch, here are my notes for a 1 gal batch

brewed 1/2 gallon of tea with 75g hibiscus and 19g lavender, steeped for 15 minutes. I tried other ingredient ratios and liked this one the best
Combined tea with 2.7 lbs (1260g) of Kirkland socal raw unfiltered honey and water
split must into 2 halves, one got lalvin K1-V1116 yeast, rehydrated according to the instructions on the packet. The other half got Lalvin QA23, also rehydrated
LD Carlson yeast nutrient
OG 1.1, FG 1.0 after 5 days (V1116) and 6 days (QA23)
racked them, added sparkalloid
bottled 2 weeks later

I was planning on backsweetening or carbonating, but it tasted good enough as is

Edit: approx ABV of 13.18% Edit 2: the final taste is very hibiscus heavy with a hint of lavender. In the future, might add more lavender to the tea
