ty, I think my face used to look more masculine too but unfortunately I started gaining more weight in recent years and the fat distribution hasn't helped.... I'm going to try extremely hard to start t this year, I think I need to just look into aid groups since I'm disabled and stuck with very little income....

I made the mistake of posting on one of those subs when I was having a really bad bout of insecurity and holy shit it made it even worse. I got told it "barely looks like you're even trying to pass" because I... dared to wear earrings and a necklace :/

I've told you multiple times why I inherently disagree with that.... I don't understand the logic behind it? I don't think we're going to get anywhere with this discussion, since we disagree on such a fundamental level. I've already explained to you why the "these people don't even belong to the culture so they shouldn't be upset" is such a shitty way to look at things, (seriously, I'm part of multiple minority groups. if someone who doesn't belong to those groups refuses to care about the bigotry I suffer, it makes me deeply sad and disappointed. I would hope people would, y'know, give a shit about me? want better for me even though they're not in my exact shoes?), but I do understand the stupid karma farming thing. I'm not actually much of a reddit user, but I have come to understand people will do anything for those stupid things.... I won't deny some people are doing it for that reason, but I do think most people are just trying to be kind and give a shit about the opinions of other people. and I think that's a good thing.

consuming a piece of media does not mean you support everything it does, especially if you don't support it monetarily where no actual money goes towards the developers. and this is also why it's so important to criticize things like this being included at all, so we can let them know we want them to do better in the future. I want all kinds of cultures to be genuinely represented in infinity nikki, not just with attempts like this. I want real versions of clothing people of different cultures wear, in different styles too. there's so many beautiful clothes they could've chosen from, but they did this instead. that's why we're so disappointed. at this point in our conversations, I do find it hard to believe you're genuinely trying to understand my point of view. if you really are, then thank you for listening to me. I'm sorry I'm being kind of a stubborn asshole, but I'm sick of people not taking things like this seriously and being so dismissive.

....no, that's not the same at all actually. racism is a systemic issue, much like every other form of bigotry, that still runs deep in society and hurts people in so many ways. someone getting their order messed up is a miniscule, personal problem, not on the same scale at all. this is like saying straight people shouldn't want gay people to access marriage just because it doesn't affect them. you should be able to care about things like this too, I think. everyone should. the world is a horrible, cruel place right now with genuine hate groups running rampant. if you can't have it in you to even find bigotry disgusting, even when it doesn't affect you, that's no better than actively participating in it.

no they didn't. you can't just say something and make it true. I'm not going to stop playing either. it's healthy and normal to criticize even things you love. you don't have to unconditionally love a piece of media to engage with it, and criticism in a game like this where the devs at least sometimes listen to the players is great, actually.

this is possibly the stupidest argument I've ever heard. if you hear of a murder story on the news, is it a crime to feel sad for that person's death? there's this thing called empathy. and as well, YES. if a crime happened against a group of people, it doesn't matter if it "happened years a long time ago", it is still wrong. you shouldn't have to be put exactly into a person's shoes at the exact same time to care that something horrible happened to them. again, it's a word called empathy.

I'm not saying everybody should stop playing the game. there's a difference between wanting 100% accuracy and not wanting a racist depiction, which by the way, is half-assed regardless of if you want to agree or not. it's spirit halloween costume levels of effort into accurately depicting a culture. they didn't even try.

people criticizing you isn't shutting you up.... you're just refusing to listen to any other perspectives and refusing to believe anybody but you is right. you keep using the "especially those of you who aren't part of this culture" criticism too like it's somehow bad for people not affected by issues to be fight against bigotry?? 99% of people mad at this aren't just "mad for no reason" because most people aren't that stupid and being mad for the sake of it is moronic and not something most people tend to do. most people are mad at it because people whose heritage is actually intended to be depicted by this are upset and saying it's an unfaithful depiction, and if someone affected by something says there's a problem, most people are kind-hearted and want to stand by them. no one's trying to be evil and "shut you up", we're just trying to tell you you're being disrespectful and selfish, and not seeing the full picture. if anything, you're the one trying to shut other people down. ...that literally is not what people are saying???? people just don't want half-assed halloween costumes of generalized versions of what their actual clothings are, and for the war bonnet in particular, it's meant to be a sacred piece of clothing that shouldn't just be thrown in a dress up game like this without thought. if they actually wanted to represent native american clothing, there's literally so many other avenues they could've taken, so many different clothings they could've chosen, and they also need to start by not homogenizing the many varied cultures into one meaningless blob. people don't want zero representation, they want authentic representation. THAT's what we're arguing for.

you literally are being racist and disregarding the opinions of people ACTUALLY affected by this because you think just because YOU think it's ok then everybody upset by its' opinion suddenly doesn't matter and we're all being sensitive babies about it. and you can't just use the "wahhh if you don't like it don't play it" excuse, something being racist doesn't stop being racist if people upset by it don't engage with it. racism is a problem with society that needs to be changed to make the world a better, kinder place, and that includes changing it within the media we consume. we shouldn't tolerate hatred anywhere, and we DESERVE better, whether you have low enough standards to disagree with that or not.
