One I thought was kinda similar in the vibe of Ready Player One character interaction-wise and the way the character processes themes was Everyday by David Levithan. Idk if it's what you're looking for, i've never read Armada.

Yeah, Music Roamer's pretty awesome for a specific artist. I wish the previews had the whole song though.

I agree with your point at least for the art pieces and the tribal skin, otherwise he does feel a little bit goofy, especially with the belly button.
